I'm not saying that I wouldn't do business with someone that has a low post count. I've actually done deals with people that have PM'd me with less than 100 post because they couldn't post in the classifieds on the thread. We talked and came to a deal.
What I was mainly talking about was trades. If I have something for trade and someone wants to make a trade for their item, they normally both ship at the same time. Now when someone is new and have no post it is kind of hard to trust their word. Of course on here it normally always works out perfectly, but I'm just saying. As a matter of fact I just did this very thing with a guy. We traded Larue Aimpoint mounts. Went off with a hitch.
I'm not really saying its a bad thing or a good thing, but there is a stigmatism that goes along with it. I know if I have a $1400 rifle for sell, and I get a PM from someone that just joined the same day and has 101 post spammed to get into the classifieds section I'm not really going to trust the guy on his word to ship the rifle to him. He might be a saint, but I don't know that.
I'm just saying get a DL and payment first and you have nothing to worry about.

I've done deals with people with low post count too. One guy had 2 posts, lived in Az and I mailed him a Money Order for $250 before he shipped lol. But I would have a harder time being the seller in that situation. The seller takes all the risk in my opinion, be it a gun F2F or accessory shipped.

I would not deal with someone who thinks low post count makes a difference in buying/selling. Yes, I do try to make it to 100, not for selling in my case. The new rule in this forum is that I cannot even post my messages/questions in the trade/sell section. What's funny I joined the forum before administration came up with this new rule. Up until then I did not care much about it since I was able to communicate with sellers. Now I can't until I hit 100 and this one goes towards that number:)

And I never go unarmed and unprepared. If someone is just planning to lift it off me and run it will be my fault if I'm not prepared. i agree with this. I never meet anybody i dont know to sell ANYTHING without being armed. guns, treadmill, 1st born child, whatever.

Yes, that is correct. However, it's in the seller's best interest to get as much information from the buyer, and it's in the seller's best interest to use an FFL when shipping to someone they don't know.
Let's make this real simple.
1. If you sell a gun, and you're the original owner of said gun, you're a complete idiot if you do not get the buyers information.
2. If you ship a firearm to someone you do not know, without using an FFL, you're a complete idiot as well.
Whatever you do, ignore this guys advice because he doesn't know what he is talking about.
