everybody has there own opinion and certain luck with various feeders, i've had a moultrie or two, 1 monarch, 1 sweeney but the two best feeder motors/timers i've ever owned are the high end one's i bought at j&l sales in cross plains and the texas hunter products which are my favorites. All the other guys on my lease over the last few years have replaced there feeders with the 6v texas hunter w/solar panel as mine has lasted thru two or three replacements for them. i think there on sale right now as well. www.texashunterproducts.com

It won't happen again my friend. That sucked, and I had just filled up the feeder. By morning the hogs had eaten about 50 dollars worth of corn that was on the ground.

I recently bought one of the Remington feeders (two months ago). I went to check it last weekend and it had buckled in on itself. While not on totally level ground, it appears the hogs had pushed the legs out....
I was able get it back in working condition but I'm concerned about the durability of the plastic drum. We'll see the next time out.

Well I would say the platic drum is pretty tough. The one in that pic fell with 300 lbs of corn in it and had no damage at all.

We have two Monarchs that we have had for probably 10 years and both have crashed at least once due to high winds or cows. What I like is I can repace the individual parts, like the motor or the timer unit, without being a hassle to do so.
We also have five American Hunter/Moultrie feeders. They are pretty reliable as well. The only bad thind I can say about them is we had one feeder that had a squirrel chew a hole in the top of the feeder. I asked one of the guys on my lease (big, burly, country boy type guy) to fill it for me while he was there and got the shock of his life when he took the top off and a squirrel flew out at him. Another guy was there and witnessed it and said when he flew off the ladder, he knew was gettin eaten up. We ended up just getting another barrel and installing the same motor.
