tactical solutions makes a dedicated 22lr upper that goes on a mil spec lower. If you have an AR in another caliber you can just switch it out and only have one lower...

I was thinking about doing that also, but I'd rather have a dedicated 22 rifle I know I could just buy a dedicated lower for it also, but that would defeat the purpose of a cheap 22 rifle lol. If were to do that I'd just buy one of the HK's

I went with the extra lower to make a complete gun also. Tactical sol does not make cheap stuff that I know of. All their products are top of the line and priced accordingly.

Which is why I'll probably end up buying a .22 upper. it costs about the same as a .22 AR/sig.

Thought there is somehting sexy abou that H&K, though I have a thing about buying from them.

The H&K is not plastic. Upper and lower are metal receivers as well as a machined rail interface system.

I'd rather have plastic.

My gun of choice for shooting jackrabbits on open land. Bushmaster Carbon15.

Those "plastic" parts, are warmer to touch in the winter. They also have a softer feeling when you shoot it. Instead of a metal snap. It's a thud. Smoother feel.

The upper on the Sig is one huge chunk of alloy. The anodizing is really good. I have shot close to 2000rds of ammo and have yet had the bolt wear through it inside the receiver.

I just wish they offered more grips for it. They offer free floats, rails...etc.....where's the Hogue grip? CAA?

What are your thoughts on Savage 22 lr semi-auto (model 64)?

I don’t have any experience with it (I do have experience with their bolt 22lr, and it’s pretty nice for the price), but I know you can find it for pretty cheap.

Yes I stated that in a previous post that the only AR22 that isn't plastic is the HK.

My apologies KRoyal. I guess I need to slow down when browsing the forum.

I tend to go with the 10/22. Been around since the 60's but still improving. Now a new model in take down. And more accessories than a woman has in her purse or closet combined. Take a gander at ebay and type in ruger 10/22. I just did and it came up with 2400 items for your 10/22. From stocks, to carbon fiber barrels, to target kits to etc...

I have a 597 and it is/was accurate. The extractor assembly popped out of it shooting a while back so I would not rate dependability high on the scale.
