Most likely I'll be toting my .270 Savage. I may pull out my Win. 70 in 7mm. If I get a doe in close enough, I'm going to take her with my new 1911 .45 ACP.

My new-to me REM 700 .270 is making the 700+ mile trip to Coke County tomorrow. This will be my first time to use it. Also bringing the trusty old BLR .243 as a backup, and my new-to-me Savage Striker .243. Good chance for rain Saturday. If its wet, the the striker will get the nod since its stainless. I think it will be a KICK to kill a deer with it, but I'm more comfy with the rifles right now...

The deer slayer, my dads old Marlin 30/30. Given to him by his dad and I killed my first deer with it so hoping it brings me some luck.

I'm taking my Sendero SF 300WM and my Ruger Ultralite 30-06. 180gn accubonds and 180 partitions in the 06. Depends on what stand I'm hunting as to which rifle I'm shooting.

Decisions decisions, suppressed Rem 700 .308, suppressed AR .223 (w/ NVG for potential hogs), or Rem 7mm-08 Mannlicher? Leaning towards the .308 or may break down and take the reliable but slightly overpowered 7MM RUM. Or just go with the Bowtech one more time.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.
