I don't have a preference either way. There are times that I enjoy being in the woods by myself and spending days alone. There are other times that I enjoy hunting alone, but coming back and seeing what everyone else has seen or shot at camp. And..there are other times that I enjoy going hunting with someone else.

Yes, I enjoy hunting in the middle of week because I usually see more game. But it's not the same when you headed back to camp and know that no one will be there.

I can take it either way as long as my company is quiet and ok with it.

If I'm alone, I can pick my nose while waiting for the big one (deer, I mean) and not have to worry about appearances.

Can you offer any good "one liners" to let it be known what you feel about what was just said?

Like "You're as a full of "it" as a Christmas turkey".

Or who hears or smells your farts.

But then, that can also be "cherished" in deer camp as well. Nothing like a little "buck snort" to wake up the gang.

Maybe that's what makes deer camp such a good place. You need not worry about acting the way you must at work.

I like to hunt, if someone else shows up, fine.

I like both and if I kill a bunch of hogs I appreciate the help when cleaning.

I have spent most of my hunting life hunting alone. That is over 40 yrs now. I do miss the family hunting together when I was younger but prefer to hunt alone nowdays. I spent 9 days hunting in Kansas alone with no guide. Spent 2 days without talking to anyone, just hunting.

How long do you think you could go without wanting to see another soul?

I have gone for 10-12 days during hunting season when managing a ranch that was 35 miles from town. I had to go to town for mail since there was no mail carrier route out my way and still might not talk to anyone. Bought groceries and supplies when there then back to the ranch.

I love hunting alone. I really love when I am the only one at the lease. It is just fun to me. Can not exactly say why but I just love it.

However, I enjoy when all the hunters are down and we share stories and you get to check out their kills and such.

I just love this time of the year.

I perfer to "hunt" alone

Now back at camp is another story. I like having family and fellow lease members (mainly family and close friends) with me back at camp. Plus it's assuring to know if I need help or something goes wrong they're not too far away. I've been out at the lease for a few days by myself before my dad showed up and I almost went crazy watching the same DVD's over and over again during the day there is plenty to do to keep busy but those nights can get boring

I take my dog he doesn't have much to say when we sit in the stand. If I need human company I'll go to the bar.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I enjoy having my son or my wife with me. Heck I even enjoy having both of them at the same time. It might get a little nerve racking sometimes because they might make some noise in the blind but I enjoy having them there and trying to pass on some hunting heritage to them.

I have gone a few days by myself because they did not feel like getting up early or there were other things going on and that was ok as well. Then I would look over to where they would be sitting and I would just get to feeling lonely and wishing that they were there with me. If I am by myself I have no one there to share in my joy if I harvest a deer. Although if my son was with me he would be the one doing the harvesting even if he thought it was my turn to hunt because I get more joy out of watching his excitement in deer hunting. That was all confirmed again this weekend during youth season when he harvested his second doe one day and then his first buck the next day.

So I guess put me in the pack club.

I can do both, but if I am after a bruiser buck, I would rather hunt alone. It is hard not to make noise or movement with more than one person involved.

Im not able to take it as serious when people are hunting with me.... i always have to worry about were they are...how much they are moving...what they are looking at...etc... 90% of the time i kill im by myself....just alot easier to focus...and no one is trying to talk to me lol.... now bird hunting is a much different story

I grew up hunting with family and then after I moved away and married I still managed to hunt on occasion with family or friends, but more and more I went alone as I took advantage of my free time since I never knew when I would get the chance, and that often is your only choice.
You family men know exactly what I'm talking about.
Now the older I get and with health issues I hunt most of the time with someone mainly for safety's sake, and I prefer not to become coyote food and letting those cara cara pluck out my eyeballs.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.
