There's no question that we humans are social creatures. While the ones called "hermits" still exist, most of us would soon go crazy if left isolated from interaction with other people for an extended period. IMO, the same is very true about men and hunting. Like the earliest men who banded together in search of meat necessary for survival, it seems the same is true for the average hunter today. While we might enjoy having a specific stand or area all to ourselves for a morning or evening, we're always eager to get back with others in our pack and see what was taken down.
Yes, there's just something special about everyone heading out in the morning and then later regrouping around the meat pole.

I'd rather hunt alone and do 99.999% of the time. Not to challenge your opinion, but what is it about hitting the woods with others that makes you prefer to hunt alone?

To me hunting alone is about as boring as fishing or drinking alone. Guess I'm a pack kinda guy.

I'll use the other night for example, I was attempting to do a spot and stalk on hogs, and the buddy I brought along who is a hell of guy, seemed to step on every damn twig between us and the target, sneeze, cough, talk to loud, etc. On the other hand, there is one buddy I hunt with who is probably better at being more quiet than me Would rather just not fool with it, but you better answer your phone when I need help loading some game

Whenever I come back to camp empty handed, I really hope to find that someone else was able to bring something down. It's much like playing a sport where you view yourself as a member of the team and celebrate each other's successes.

Many of us are. And many of us prefer to go it solo. Like we say....I'm OK and you're OK, but only in VERY small doses.

Unless it's someone that I'm tryin to teach, I don't want someone with me while on the stand. However, as a kid, I found it enjoyable to head out with guys a lot older than me and use dogs to hunt deer. At that point, I was just trying to learn anything I could about the aniimal and the sport.

I got to tired of my buddies making fun of me when I missed. Something that I learned and came to accept while growing up was that someone giving you a hard time is often a sign they enjoy being around you. It's when they leave you alone that they often don't give a ^%$# what you do. Yes, Deer Camp is a good place where young boys can learn a lot about people, and themselves.
