Heres a thought and it's not like some of the stupid ones posted above... Write a letter telling him how you feel about the tripod being so close, ask him to please move it. Then stick the note is a ziplock back, tape or tie said bag to the fence so he can read it. Or write you phone number on the paper and ask him to call you.
Just amazes me how people can't give others any respect at all anymore. Heck I know the owner this is his grandkids doing. It's not life or death it's just one of those things that pisses you off. I wouldn't jack with him while hunting I just don't want him over the fence. I think I'll give em a call...shouldn't have to is all I'm saying.

Oh I agree 100% on the lack of ethics by people now a days, my respect comment was directed mostly to them. Odd thing about the tripod is I don't see any trails in that area, that would make more sense. Do you think they would actually shoot into your field? Sad, if they are that low but nowadays you just never know.

I would stand there Naked on your side wearing nothing but a Hat, Sunglasses and Boots doing the Helicopter Dance while smoking a Cigar and have a Juke Box on your Shoulder blasting Jim Nabors Show tunes on a Loop Best idea yet We have a neighbor that high fenced his internal property and left roughly 150yds between our fence and the high fence, last year he set up a tower blind on our east fenceline! See people's kids

That's what you get for putting a food plot on the fence line!!! And why don't you do the neighborly thing and put him up a feeder as well?? it's about 200 yards away That's probably what he has his rifle zeroed in at and your set up fits him perfectly. Seriously though, maybe he's a bowhunter. A new bowhunter. Or maybe it's set up there to keep YOU honest. You probably won't know anything till opening morning, when you're in your stand and him in his. I'm willing to bet though, he's tryin to cut you off from having deer go from him to you. I used to cut guys off our place all the time, except they never knew it cause I did my homework and set up where they couldn't see or didn't know where my stand was.

My neighbor put a feeder right on my fence line and the only direction his bullet can go is across my land. I ride the 4wheeler up that fence line 2 and from my stand and just hope i dont get shot!

If everyone would simply follow the accepted courtesy of keeping your stands and feeders at least 100 yds from neighboring fencelines these issues wouldn't keep coming up.
But they do....over and over again.

It was all said in a attempt to have a little fun and a Jokey Joke, plus I dont agree with placement of the Tri Pod, but I will take all the comments under advisement..The bottom line is someone should show a tad bit of courtesy when placing a new stand in a area thats established and they are aware of, bottom line, it's your World I'm just passin through..have a great Friday.

Maybe you should worry about your side of the fence, or buy or lease the neighbors place.

It's not MY deer and never said that GREG. I am saying the only shot he has from that blind is not on HIS place. What? Go read my post again Jasb...I wasn't saying YOU did. Thought you said he has a shot down his side of the fence line? Thanks for your input GREG you seem to be a wealth of knowledge about hunting other people's places. I would post No Trespassing signs all along your property line, then install a game cam or two. IDK if you know this, but in Texas we don't need any no trespassing signs. It's kind of an understood thing here. I know that the purple post law has been talked about here on the forum but below is the law that states no trespassing if there are purple posts. The same section on Texas law states that if there is a crop grown foror under cultivation, no signs are needed. Texas Statues, 2001, Texas Penal Code, Article 30.05, authorizes the use of purple paint to post property boundaries. Below: (D) the placement of identifying purple paint marks on trees or posts on the property, provided that the marks are: (i) vertical lines of not less than eight inches in length and not less than one inch in width; (ii) placed so that the bottom of the mark is not less than three feet from the ground or more than five feet from the ground; and (iii) placed at locations that are readily visible to any person approaching the property and no more than: (a) 100 feet apart on forest land; or (b) 1,000 feet apart on land other than forest land; or (E) the visible presence on the property of a crop grown for human consumption that is under cultivation, in the process of being harvested, or marketable if harvested at the time of entry.

It's funny how some posters are on the op's side and some are on the neighbors side... He is venting... Not saying he is going to shoot in the guys direction. I would be pretty upset if someone put up a stand next to my plot knowing they were going to harvest a deer that someone else did all the work to bring in and keep around.
Isn't it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different.
Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

All this talk about this 100 yd courtesy zone got me to wondering how much of my 100 acres I would lose if I adheared to this courtesy as you call it. So, using Google Earth and Google Acreage Calculator I drew a 100 yd buffer zone inside the boundry of the 100 acres to calculate how much I would lose. That would take half of my 100 acres. So guess what you can do with your 100 yd courtesy zone.
By the way I have 2 blinds right on a fence and a feeder and hog tube within 20 yds of the fence. Get over it. I have never shot across a fence and I don't believe that because I put a feeder within sight of the fence that YOUR deer are going to jump the fence to eat at my feeder and never return to your side of OUR fence.

From TPWD: Under the Texas Penal Code (§30.05) it is an offense for any person to enter property that is fenced, posted with a sign(s), or marked (purple paint) without the express permission of the owner. Posts or trees bearing purple paint marking of not less than eight inches in length and not less than one inch in width at not less than three or more than five feet from the ground constitute notice that the property is posted. A person who hunts without landowner consent and kills a desert bighorn sheep, pronghorn antelope, white-tailed deer, or mule deer commits an offense that is a Parks and Wildlife Code state jail felony. Upon conviction, your hunting and fishing license is automatically revoked.Retrieval of Game: No person may pursue a wounded wildlife resource across a property line without the consent of landowner of the property where the wildlife resource has fled. Under the trespass provisions of the Penal Code, a person on a property without the permission of the landowner is subject to arrest.

Correct me if in wrong....but look at the fence line and the direction the stand is facing. It is angled looking across the fence. That should show his intent. I would have to make that area very undesirable to hunt.

Let me start off by giving everyone a big It's Friday BEOTCHES!! This post is pretty funny when you go back and read it al the way through again. Why do you put a feeder up. Why do you make a food plot ... The same reason everyone else does. Everyone try's to draw in deer. Putting a food plot on a property that has open fields on it... that butts up next to a heavy covered different piece of property that's probably just full of deer bedded down. Sounds great to me. Try and draw as many bucks out of that guys heavy covered area as you can. Why not? You know they are in there. The neighbor does too. That's why he put that tripod there. He's only trying to bust'em down the fence line before they go munch on the nice greens and snow peas you got over there that everyone can see. When you catch him shooting across or sabotaging your area...nail him on it. But I can almost guarantee you he's not that dumb....

True.... but the lack of respect started when the guy put his tripod on the fence line Just amazes me how people can't give others any respect at all anymore.
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

Not cool! You know they will be tempted to shoot across your fence. And based on location can even do so with a bow.

I like the idea of a cheap made 8ft long box blind right next to the fence that blocks his view.

The problem is their are more deer hunters than their are deer managers. Thats the problem with the land fragmentation going on in Texas. All these little 40 to 100 acre plot owners come up and care nothing about managing a deer herd. All they wory about is getting a shot at the first legal 2.5 year old deer they see. Its funny how when you put up a high fence their stands and feeders disappear.
