thats a cool find

I found a banded redhead drake floating dead. Now whenever I can't find a downed bird I wonder if it was banded.

lost my gun one time. It fell out of a sled I was pulling behind me. Went back the next weekend and found it.

Lost a home made dog ladder that hangs on the side of the boat. It fell in water about 6' deep. Found it 2 years later when the lake dried up.

other than that just old decoys, couple of mojos... trash really is all.

Doe Whitetail that had tangled up in a trotline and drowned. Dead owl that had tangled in a trotline and died. Found a live Great Blue Heron tangled in a trot line and was able to set it free. I don't like trotlines.

One morning while dove hunting, my brother and I found a poor man that ended his life the night before out on the county road. He was diagnosed with a terminal disease of some sort. We didn't get a good look at him, it was pretty obvious what happened before we got close.

Other than that...found a hatchet some drunk campers left in a stump. Figured it was fair pay for the work I did picking up their empties.

Have had a few groups of illegals find me over the years while deer hunting down south. One coyote couldn't quite seem to find me back in the ground blind, he came to about ten yards till he saw the barrel of a 357mag pointing at him. He quickly retreated into the brush. Ran off a good deer at the feeder too.

Countless camps and traffic stops along the highways where illegals get dropped off and run around check points and weigh stations. They sure know how to leave a mess, bottles, buckets, cans of food, clothes, whatever.

Ranch hand found the remains of a girl who had apparently died from dehydration and heat stroke last year. Every now and again they get lost and desperate and come up into camp asking for water.

Mostly empty shotgun hulls, the occasional water bottle or pile of beer cans.

Nothing too cool or weird. My son lost a call on public water on the youth weekend. We had no idea where it had fallen out of his bag along the way.

Two weeks before the season ended I was in the same spot and the water had gone down a lot. Saw something sticking up out of the mud. Yep, it was my call.

Hunting in Louisiana one weekend the year Hurricane Ike came through there, we found a tugboat door, a mailbox, 4 tool belts, and enough lumber to open a Home Depot.

All of that was on the edge of the pond we hunted in.

Oh, forgot about the dead cow carcass.

We did shoot our limits that day. It was weird seeing hardhead catfish swimming in the marsh pond along with a few jellyfish.

This and a horse shoe when the lake was 10 feet low. Wonder when they missed it?

A buddy and me found a girl who was chained to a few cinder blocks and threw into the tide pools/marsh behind Bryan Beach. The tide went down and we were about to start fishing until we saw something weird. Too a closer look and didn't need to get much further until we realized what it was. Called the Freeport Police and that ruined a good surf fishing day. She had been there for a few days...pretty gruesome and I'll never forget the image. No more trips to Bryan Beach for me!
