I agree. Great minds think alike. Now if we just knew someone with a great mind...Do keep us informed, as Max V said, how the 257 shoots as I'm looking too.

Seriously looking at the 257 CDL. Any updated comments?

Everybody knows I'm a fan of Mark V Weatherby's but I picked up a 257 CDL-SF last year and I couldn't have made a better choice. Great trigger, accurate and looks great, it is my favorite yote gun.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Glad you make a smart choice hwy_man... I got the Accumark and so far has been a royal pain in the rear and has been sent back to wby.

Of the 2 mentioned I would go with the CDL700 I have a 700Sendero in .300Wby, it is the only Rem 700 I currently own and it is the BEST Rem700 I have ever shot.

I love my CDL, not a 257, but a very refined and very nice rifle that I am proud to own and enjoy hunting and shooting. That said, my Accumark is a wicked machine. Two totally different feels. One is traditional elegance, the other cold precision...and my Accumark being in 338-378 makes for a serious piece of artillery.

I won't buy a Remington since they were bought by the Freedom Group. I have an ADL .270 that is a tack driver but it is ten years old. That being said I would be perfectly happy with a S2 Vanguard in .257 Wthby.

The Accumark is 10x better quality than the CDL, but I admit the Accumarks accuracy is not what it should be for the price.

I'll take the Accumark for overall fit and finish. For me the CDL stock just does not fit. Remington trying to save weight, it seems VERY flimsy on the forend and length of pull is almost vaginal. I changed the CDL stock out to a BDL with a little more forward meat in the stock and it worked well. The Accumark with the aluminum reinforcement in the stock has been rock solid.

For the price of an accumark you can put a McMillan stock pillared/bedded and add a custom trigger to Remington, and 9/10 it will out shoot the accumark.
Their isn't one company that offers a decent synthetic stock on a gun under $900 from the factory. IMO.

Hell for the price of an accumark you can buy a customized/accurized gun from redhawk or hcr..that will be guaranteed to shoot

My wife bought me another Accumark for Christmas to replace the one I .stupidly sold a couple of years ago. She attached the receipt to the warranty papers. I about lost my mind when I saw she paid full msrp for it. She should have given me the cash. I could have gotten a rifle built and still had a little leftover to put towards the scope.

I'm wishing I wouldn;t have gotten the Accumark and went with a Nosler. I have trusted my .270 WSM Nosler Custom 48 on some pretty important hunts and she has never let me down. It is simply a fine rifle. Now with the newer offerings the same rifle minus a few bells and whistles is not nearly as expensive.

I've noticed they've got one running MSRP for $1900ish. Going to go shoot one next Thursday and see what it's like.
