Come on guys. You can say what you want, there is only one tire and that is a BF goodrich. The strongest tire you ever ride. Hunting in Africa we have tried all of them. The Coopers are great tires, but a little to soft arounnd the edges. The hard rocks eat the coopers away along the side.

BF Goodrich = No.1

I bought a pair of Firestone M/T last year for my Tacoma. It is only 2wd but has a locking rear differential. I was looking for something that would have good mud traction but was not too bad on the road.

I put them on separate wheels & just change them out when the season changes.

In mud, they dig right in and get me where I'm going.

On the road, they must have a bit bigger diameter because my speedometer displays a slower speed than actual (matched vs GPS). They also ride a bit rougher & I think have a bit worse traction on wet pavement than the stock tires. It is hard to tell for sure, but I think my MPG drops a bit too. Also, they have more road noise.

I selected Firestone because they were the most aggressive tread I felt I could use safely on the streets and highway (and were priced right). There are much better mud tires out there. It depends on how you are going to use your truck.

About the best compromise between a true mud and AT tire there is. I have not tested mine in the mud yet but they have taken on lots of rocks and cactus with no issues. Wear seems good too. They ride well on the hwy.. If you want a real agressive tough mud tire get the Goodyear MTRs. Discount put a set on my truck when they mixed them up with the Duratracs. I go tot test them for several weeks. Noisy dudes on the hwy. Even though they were 10 they did not affect my MPGs.
