I honestly think.....well never mind, I've never been close to a big deer. Went bowhunting 2 times...first time didn't see anything except for turkeys and second time 4 deer. The turkeys were givin me the shakes and the deer, I little 2 y at 15yd a doe at 40, some others At a long way off, and a spike at like 40-50 were all giving me the shakes

Keith Johns is a highly respected person in the Texas bowhunting community. I have hunted his place once and missed at a blackbuck. One thing about Keith's place is that it is hunted every day, so the animals know what's up. Keith did everything he could to put me on animals and let me change stands and even move to hunting game trails. It will be a true hunt, and it won't be a guarantee. I recommend that you join www.texasbowhunter.com and ask around there. Definitely the most friendly and helpful folks I've met on the Internet.

I've heard good things about Kieth Johns, but I've never been there. My son and I have had great times at the Bug Scuffle. You might find another place or two that's just as good, but it would be hard to beat the Bug Scuffle.

Keith Johns has the most disgusting lodge I have ever stayed in. But you get what you paid for so it did not disappoint me. If you are buying a dirt cheap hunt then expect dirt cheap lodging. The trophy quality there is ok though.

Pencil Pusher, I read your thread on the trio you did with 3 generations. Are there ground blinds set up or is it just tree stands?

There are ground blinds, tree stands, and tripods. Plenty of options.

Bug Scuffle is by far a much better ranch than KJO. I have hunted both and the Bug is in a much higher class of ranch than KJO. You will hear the same story over and over about Keith's place "the animals are hunted hard or it is just too green and they are not coming to feeders" He keeps the place booked and that keeps the money in his pocket. He has a pretty loyal following on TBH and you usually get bashed for saying anything negative about Keith's operation. Save your time and money and just book at the Bug Scuffle, you will not be disappointed.
If some animals are good at hunting and others are suitable for hunting, then the Gods must clearly smile on hunting.

So far Bug Scuffle is nothing but good. KJO has a bad review and the other place I was looking at had even worse reviews. At the TTHA extravaganza I picked up a brochure for another place but for WT only.
Thanks for all the information guys; I really appreciate it!!!!!

Check out Sweetwater Creek Bow Hunting....great place. Agreed. A little more pricey then what he is looking for I think. Great operation with a TON of awesome animals.

What you see on the website is what you get. You can't hunt a specific animal (well you can, but it all cost the same).
