What do you use? What did you used to use? I used a single shot 20 forever. I've heard of guys going after wood ducks with a 410 when they were a teen. I now use a pump 12 gauge. How bout you?

Remi 17 as a teen (20 ga pump)
870 12 ga in my early 20s
11-87 12 ga in my mid 20s-mid 30s
A5 magnum in my mid 30s to 40
Had neck surgery, now I'm going the other way.

Mostly either a 16 ga or 20 ga A5 these days. 1oz loads are all I can handle for targets and anything above a 2 3/4 inch 12ga load is stickly forbidden these days. Even for ducks.

Some guys at the club are urging me to join the 28ga crew for a target shooting. Seriously considering that.

Thought for the day: Ducks were almost hunted to extinction long before camo was invented.

My dad started me out with a bolt action 20ga.
Then upgraded to a NEF 20ga
Then I went through 4 or 5 Rem 870 12ga ( I duck hunted ALOT)
Now I shoot a beretta extrema when I duck hunt and a Yildiz .410 when I dove hunt.

I'll start my kids off with that same bolt action 20ga that my dad gave me.

Started out with a Mossberg 500 that I inherited from my grandpa.
Didn't like some scratches that it was getting so my GF bought me a Benelli Nova for Christmas. Then I bought some Baikal MP-153s and I would mix it up between my Baikal and Nova. Then last Christmas my GF bought me a Browning Maxus.

My GF started with a Stoeger P350 and then went to a Baikal MP-153 that she will use until we get a new A5.

All 12s. And the above pertains to duck hunting and duck hunting only. Add other shotgun hunting and throw a single shot New England Firearms 20 gauge before all of it.

dove gun: 1967 ted williams 20 ga., belonged to my grandfather and was passed down to my dad. my dad gave it to me about 6 years ago after i borrowed it for an evening dove hunt and didn't miss a single shot (only shot 7 birds, but still). killed my 1st deer with it too when I was 12, so it's pretty special to me

duck and turkey gun: remington 870, it's all I need. got it when i was 16, haven't looked back.

I hunted from 1978 till 2008 with the same Browning auto 5 mag twelve. I bought it used for $275. In 2007 I started shooting sporting clays. Tried an O/U. I was hooked on the O/U. Sold every gun I have and stocked up on Browning two barrel guns.

Started with a single shot 410. Shot my first deer, dove, squirrel, rabbit and pretty much every other little critter with it. Got a Mossberg 20 ga to start goose hunting with when I was 12 or 13 and used it for waterfowling for a while. Now I shoot a stoeger 2000.

My first duck gun was a jc higgins bolt 20, loved that gun and still have it.

Started with a composite Mossy 500, gun has spent half of its life under water and still shoots great. Wife got me an SX3 last summer, it's nice not getting beat to hell during dove season!

Started with a 12ga 870 Express Mag at 12. Used that until about 5 years ago when I picked up a Mossberg 935 for waterfowl. Love both of them. Using a 12ga Wingmaster 870 for dove or a 20ga Winchester depending on the mood.

I also vote for a citori. I love it, it is the most fun to shoot of any firearm ever. When I get tired of sending my maxus to browning to fix (twice already) I'll probably buy another citori for duck hunting. It looks like Browning will get my money one way or another.

Started on a Mossberg 500. Then got a Mossberg 9200. Then went to a Beretta 390. Have 2 390's now, selling one right now in the classifieds!! Keeping my camo one though.

Started with a 20guage 870 wingmaster as a kid, went to a 12 gauge 870 in high school. Early 20's went with a 20 gauge Remington 1100, have since went to a berretta 390 (12 gauge), now have Vinci. I have also used a Browning A5 (20 & 16 gauges). Sometimes use an o/u, have an Ithica 20 gauge and an older 12 gauge Browning. I have kept them all except that first 20 gauge wingmaster, I wish I knew where it was...

I started with a 20 gauge 870 wingmaster. Once I was big enough I was given an 870 Express magnum in 12. It's had a facelift since, but it's still my primary water fowling piece.
