I am partial to my R-25 but I just got a BAR longtrac .30-06 that makes a lighter and more potent hunting gun. I love Vortex illuminated reticle scopes for black hogs in the middle of the night.

This pair of 300 Blackouts. Crazy accurate and exactly what I need for 40 to 200 yard shots. Top one: Bravo upper, Palmetto lower and Magpul MOE+ lower parts kit w/match trigger, ER Shaw 300BO 16" carbine gas barrel, Hogue float tube, 4 rail gas block, tri-delta muzzle brake, M16 BCG, Bravo charge handle, two point harness, cheap temporary mildot scope/riser.... Bottom one: Bravo Upper, Palmetto lower, CMMG lower parts kit w/match trigger, Magpul MOE+ grip and trigger guard, ACE Skeleton stock, Hogue free float tube, CMMG 300BO 16" carbine gas barrel, 4 rail gas block, tri-delta muzzle brake, M16 BCG, Palmetto charge handle, Condor two point sling, 1/2 inch riser with UTG 3-12 illuminated mildot. Waiting on some parts to finish a 7.62x39 upper to play with also... Have been following ZenArchery's success with his and I have lots of ammo! Also use a Model 722 punched to .223 wylde for "finesse" shots...LOL!

I must admit I'm a little tight. 30-30 with 180 gr cast and 10.5 gr Unique makes cheap sausage. Fom

Lightweight, handy, good capacity and rate of fire, plenty of power and range for all reasonable shooting scenarios, and ammo is ubiquitous and reasonably priced. It does not take the weaponary of Seal Team 6 to down a hog...you're not hunting Osama...just a different type of swine. Winchester 94 and Marlin 336 .30-30 excell at this. However, call me biased or orthodox, but a lever action without wood furniture is as depressing as a classic muscle car with a six cylinder under the hood...

ruger 10/22 or marlin 25m 22mag with my glock 21 on my hip if they get close and thick. Ive dropped more pigs with the 22mag than any other gun I own.
but usually when im in my stand I have some sort of center fire with me.

Sometimes it does take a little more firepower. I can't get close to the ones I'm shooting and still be able to see them in the tall grass. quote=JThoele] I must admit I'm a little tight. 30-30 with 180 gr cast and 10.5 gr Unique makes cheap sausage.
