Before I get started, Hello. I'm Bryan, and I'm new to the forum. Now I hope I don't get flamed for my first post. It doesn't take 1,000 fpe to kill a bobcat, or even a hundred, or even fifty for that matter. The main advantage of using pb's (powderburners) is that they shoot flatter, farther. A .22 or .25 caliber high-powered breakbarrel airgun should be plenty of medicine for a bobcat- as long as you don't attempt a shot at ranges beyond where you can put at least 5 shots inside an inch, and aren't being forced to "guess-timate" drop (got a laser range finder?), and you are taking head shots only. Some of the more powerful air rifles are even good for boiler room shots, delivering plenty of energy to stop the heart and/or scramble the lungs. The challenge of airgun hunting is that you are forced to get closer to your prey, so you have to hone your stalking skills a little better- vs. a powder burner, which gives you a lot more range. The ADVANTAGE, however, is that they make much less noise, and there's no scent of burned gunpowder. Huge advantage when you are hunting predators, with keen senses. The sound of a .223 and the smell of gunpowder could end your hunt for the night, by scaring away predators for a pretty good range. Airguns, on the other hand, not so much. Even the most powerful spring airguns don't make any more noise than a suppressed semi-auto .22 lr's bolt slapping back. And you can rock a PCP (pre-charged pneumatic) airgun with an integral suppressor that can't be removed and fitted to a firearm legally and without any special permit. Perfect for pest control and predator hunting on a smaller 1-2 acre piece of property, with neighbors near by (especially at night). In Texas, all non-game species are legal with airguns, including exotics. There are big-bore airguns powerful enough to rip right through the shoulder of an american bison, commonly used on larger exotics and predators as well. It's all about accuracy, penetration, and shot placement. If you hit a coyote in the guts, or sometimes even in the diaphragm and guts, with a .30-30, it'll run off and probably suffer and you might never recover it. Head shot with a .25 Benjamin Marauder on the same animal? Lights out! BTW, great shooting Lane!

Are pellet guns legal for squirrel? I don't believe so.

Is it illegal to shoot a pellet gun on under 10 acres? Not in city limits just in a subdivision?

Does anyone have any idea when bobcats have their young?
