I'm back and forth like a mad man on those three, today I'm with the first two answers, 6.8 SPC II (11:1 twist). So right now, today if I had money in hand for a new upper, it would be 6.8...tomorrow I'll probably change my mind again. Heck I really want all three, I'm really just deciding which goes in the safe first.
And if you want to know why I want 6.8 first, it's velocity and energy.

I would choose 6.8 over 6.5 for upper price and availability of off the shelf ammo. I reload, but I enjoy reloading in small batches for my .308 bolt action rifle. I would have no problem reloading 6.8 (or 6.5) hunting ammo. Reloading enough 6.5 grendel (or 6.8) plinking ammo for a decent day at the range would be a chore. I have enough chores.

Then plink with a .223 or x39...

6.8 is a fantastic hunting round and 16" is about ideal in length, an 18" barrel only gets about 25 FPS more
not a good plinking round
I have had several and it is my go to rifle for hunting under 300 yards
6.5 is a great long range round, but you need a long barrel to get full powder burn, most are 24", some down to 20
just depends on what you want to do with it

6.5 is a lot cheaper--you can get wolf brass case for $13 a box. Just order in bulk.
The ballistics of the 6.5 Grendel are far better than the 6.8--look and see for yourself.

depends on what you want to do w/ it, if you like short barrels and supressors go .300BLK. I also like the .300BLK because it doesn't take a special mag or bolt like the 7.62s or 6.8s, just swap in a barrel and your good to go... my .02$

If you're wanting an AR platform that takes standard everything (minus the barrel) with more punch up to 200yrds and cheaper ammo go with the 300 blk. If you want a flat shooting, more expensive round that requires special mags and bcg out to several hundred yards go with the 6.8. Ammo for the 300blk can be had as low as $12 per box and as high as 30+, with most being in the $15-$20 range. It really boils down to how you will be using it. Is it just a range plinker, long distance shooter, or match setup?

They are better due to high BC 6.5 bullets But, in order to drive them fast enough to make a diiference you have to run longer barrels than the 6.8 I shot my buddies JP Grendel upper and it was fantastic at 1k But _I_ wouldn't want to hunt with that 24" barreled AR as I like ARs for their handiness, your preferences may vary

As others have said, I would go 6.5 or 6.8. Would go 300 if I was gonna run a can and short barrel, which is what it was designed for.
Subsonic yada yada means nothing to me. Its not gonna be going fast enough to frag, will be an ice pick. My silenced Glock 21 running 230 grains is similar to the the 300 running subs. Alot of salesman say the 300 subs are good on game, I am still waiting on alot of pics of dead hogs to surface using them. We have had a whisper for years, they are quiet though.
A short 6.8 running 85 or 95 grain TSX's will be tough to beat.

A short 6.8 running 85 or 95 grain TSX's will be tough to beat. That is true!! You can push a 110 grain bullet in a 6.8 about 2650 to 2700 fps. But in a 300 blk out, you can only push a 110 grain bullet to 2370 fps. So there is an energy and fps increase over the blk out.

I have never shot a 300 Blackout on game, but have taken a lot of hogs and deer with a 6.8 and been very impressed with the terminal performance and have never lost one or had to shoot twice...

having owned both, I'd say shooting a 6.8 or supersonics in .300blk are pretty close. I've wrecked pigs with both. I like both of the calibers performance over the .223...
