Well I'm 5'5 and 150 lbs and a .300 win mag is not comfortable to shoot over and over again.

If you are hunting - how many times do you intend to shoot?

Seen 9 shots in one sitting out of a 7STW.... at the same deer & 6 from a 30-378 at one deer. At some point the excellent guide asked wtf they were shooting at.

I have killed a whole lot of WT with a .270 with 130 grains and used it to kill Mule Deer in Texas and Canada and took the same combo to New Zealand to kill 2 Red Stags.

No they let horns get in the way of their good senses. Kid shooting the 30-378 got so worked up he said the deer was down after the second shot. The guide said, "no ****, he was bedded before the war started"

That is true, and also my main reason for the switch from 300WM to the 257 wby. FWIW, something that I do that helps with recoil beatings at the range is to let the barrel cool down in between groups - shoot 3 times then give it a rest.

It turned them into complete idiots. But will say when they did connect they had enough gun to fold them.

I've killed a tractor trailer load of deer with a .270 and 130 grain bullets.

Up to 300 or so but never needed to shoot any farther. If they were that far I could stalk closer.

270 and 130 grain pills will kill any deer out to 500 all day long.

As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind...Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks--Thomas Jefferson
