A .300 ultra has about 40 ftlbs of recoil.
That's uncomfortable put a muzzle break on it... i had a 300 win mag with no muzzle break and im 5'6 150lbs... and that was no big deal for me to shoot over and over and most men are over 180lbs Well I'm 5'5 and 150 lbs and a .300 win mag is not comfortable to shoot over and over again. Unless your 150 is different than my 150....
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Seen 9 shots in one sitting out of a 7STW.... at the same deer & 6 from a 30-378 at one deer. At some point the excellent guide asked wtf they were shooting at.

Kid shooting the 30-378 got so worked up he said the deer was down after the second shot. The guide said, "no ****, he was bedded before the war started"

That is true, and also my main reason for the switch from 300WM to the 257 wby. FWIW, something that I do that helps with recoil beatings at the range is to let the barrel cool down in between groups - shoot 3 times then give it a rest.

But will say when they did connect they had enough gun to fold them.

270 and 130 grain pills will kill any deer out to 500 all day long.
As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind...Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks--Thomas Jefferson
