Really good info there!

Wish I would have had access to it last year when I spent weeks diging around on the net for just about everything that is contained in that one link. It made me feel good about the choices I made too.

Only thing I question is where he was talking about the M855 ammo causing pre-mature throat erosion in a 1/7 twist barrel. Thats the first I have heard of that.

I did some checkin on this and it turns out there is some truth to it......however it sounds like its the twist rate it self that causes it and not just the M855. The way I saw it explained is that with a tight twist like the 1/7 the bullet skids a little before the rifleings grab ahold of it and that skiding is what causes the erosion. I learn sumting new every day! grin

I just subscribed to his videos. He is doing some real nice reviews on products, Ranier, Spike's BCM, all parts of them, Magazines and muzzle devices. What works and what is a waste of money. Rifle, Handguns and shotguns, Holsters and concealability.

He is a very knowledgable, no B.S. guy. He use to be on several forums but his name escapes me at the moment. His blog seems to have taken off well.

Really good information. I subscribed to hos channel too. My only critique, and he may wrap this up in other videos I haven't seen, is he makes a lot pf good points about the effects of using different component combinations but at the end he did'nt really wrap it up with what he beleives is an ideal combination. Perhaps thats because there are many possible ideal combinations but I was left wondering.

For instance, i just ordered a Palmetto State mid-length upper, 1/7, CL, with an m-16 bolt carrier and I wonder what recoil spring and what weight buffer Would be ideal un that upper for shooting primarily M885 and XM193 ammunition.

Carbine spring and Spike's ST-T2 buffer

Follow these specs and should be fine.
