It's why they make dog pens, chains, ect...Most folks who have a hunting dog know it will go hunting, and lose much of it's training turned loose to roam...Bullets also work...but then the 3 SSS apply...DD

I would take the picture of the dogs and go to the nearest house on each of the four sides of the lease (assuming it is square or rec.) and show it to whoever lives there and tell them my problem. One of them will recognize the dogs. If nothing is done in a few days, do what you gotta do. ^This. If no one acknowledges ownership then I would recommend traping or otherwise catching them so you can read the tags on the one with the collar. Even if it is just a rabies tag I THINK you can find out the vacinating vet from that info. If there is an animal shelter near you then someone is funding them to get stray and/or abused animals. I would call the nearest shelter to get the contact info of people that will come and get them if you trap them, or find out if someone would even come and get them without you needing to catch them. Also, don't leave food for them to scavenge.
If it looks good, eat it.
Rocks are cool, also kittens.

I would not shoot a dog unless it was killing livestock or other animals you own. It is natural for them to come to the smell of a dead pig. Why leave it under the feeder?
There are no leash laws in the country. Most of your neighbors dogs will stay around their area unless drawn to explore smells etc.
The vacuum is a great idea. Now if you could hook one up to a motion sensor with solar power......

check with local homeowners. if no help then check with s.o.
very few counties in texas have a leash law. no crime is committed without threat to self, livestock or property. then deadly force can be used to stop em. but not after the fact!!!!
yes several land owners have a shoot on sight policy for dogs more so than coyotes. but not to be spoken of due to trouble.

My dad does this back home when there's a dog problem...take the shot out of a few shells and load them with rock salt, it won't kill the dogs, but goes just underneath their skin, they won't be comming back...
Why is it that every time I push #1 for english, I cannot understand the person on the other end???

I have no intention of killing the dogs. I have another camera setup on water about 50 yards from the feeder and that is where I have been getting most of the pictures of them. They clearly have collars and dog tags and had never been a bother until they drug off the hog. I usually hunt the feeder about once a month and have never seen the dogs in person.
This attempt is the third time I have tried to get a complete picture documentation of what eats the hog. I am mainly trying to find out if other hogs will eat dead hogs.
The first time I tried this I only got 2 days before the camera froze and stopped taking pictures.
On the second try I used a different camera I wasn't used to and did not get it setup properly. Again I only got about 2 days worth of pictures because the camera filled up taking pictures of blowing grass causing false triggers.
Now on the third try the dogs drag off the hog. I am cursed on this project and cannot get it done.
However I will not give up. On the next one I am going to chain him or stake him so he cannot be drug off. I will get it done.

My buddy was having issues with dogs at his place earlier this year and the word he got from either the game warden or sheriffs office was that you can't shoot a dog unless it is attacking pets or livestock or threatening people, and then she added "so, it was growling at you... right?"

catcht the dogs alive attach a note to their collars suggesting the owners keep them up because you might "mistake" them for deer!
Live to hunt, forced to work!

I have never done this but have to ask why it would be illegal to soak some wienies in anti-freeze and leave it for these dogs if they are running livestock and game on your own ranch? Can someone post the statute that says poisoning them is illegal?
They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason!

They look like antalonian shepards to me and yes I prolly spelled that wrong but they are usually used to guard sheep and goats, but also like to roam. Even the owners of these dogs might not be able to catch them, they usually not pets.

I am not sure what to do for you, but would it be possible to leave my ex wife under your feeder for a night or two?
Hunting is easy..it's getting permission from your wife that is tough.

Ok for the record it is legal according to the statute Sec. 42.092. CRUELTY TO NONLIVESTOCK ANIMALS. (e) It is a defense to prosecution under Subsection (b)(2) or (6) that:
(1) the animal was discovered on the person's property in the act of or after injuring or killing the person's livestock animals or damaging the person's crops and that the person killed or injured the animal at the time of this discovery; and Sec. 42.092. CRUELTY TO NONLIVESTOCK ANIMALS. (b) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly: (2) without the owner's effective consent, kills, administers poison to, or causes serious bodily injury to an animal; (6) without the owner's effective consent, causes bodily injury to an animal; The only stipulation is you must catch them in the act maybe?

There is quite a difference between a defense to prosecution and an exception to prosecution. The burden of proof for a defense to prosecution is up the the defendant at trial. Most lawyers charge about 10 grand for a felony jury trial. No thanks.
and again I could care less but I do like people to understand what could happen.

Talk to the neighbors, most likely somebody would recognize em. I had 2 neighbor dogs chase a nice 8pt right under my tree in bow season, and I think my dad mentioned he'd hate for someone to mistake them for game come rifle season and they haven't been a problem since.

They are guard dogs. There propose is to keep predators away from sheep and goats. Ranchers can replace hunters easier than dogs.
