I fluctuate between the 3 categories except the one that doesn't drink at all. It just depends on what I'm there to do.

This past weekend I'd have put my total drink count around 50, for the record.

We used to party hard the Thursday night before opening weekend. That way we can sleep late on Friday. Now, as we have gotten older we drink much less and sleep much more.

coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.

Exactly. Over the years, we've had guys on the lease who liked to nurse their beers while doing a little midday road hunting. How can you say that drinking and driving is dangerous, but drinking and driving with a loaded .270 is not? They were asked to leave.....

But the worst are the dove hunts where the field is surrounded by idiots drinking beer from coolers while they're shooting. The only ones out of danger are the doves.....

Sounds like us. We have a good time at the ranch, I hunt hard, usaly make every hunt of the trip and work between morning and afternoon hunt. We drink some, but it is kinda a casual drinking, I like beer so I drink it, no case a day, but its hot so when you finish one you get another. I may take one to the blind with me, but its because I will be thirsty and that is my drink of choice.. not because I feel like I need to drink one if that makes sense. Drunk folks wouldnt be looked to highly upon, its not the time or place for it if you ask me.

Never been drunk or even buzzed out at the lease, but on night time hunts where I plan on being in the blind till 1AM or longer waiting on the hogs, I will usually bring a beer or two along with my water and Gatorade.

Our place is primitive, with no power or water, so it's nice to have a cold brew handy after I'm done sweating my arse off after processing a hog in this heat.

On work days, I absolutely have a big cooler filled with tasty adult beverages.

We drink at ours and we hunt our tails off. Most of us anyways. The ones who don't hunt hard don't show up often and are there for the getaway. My dad is camp B&^$%ch. Could careless if he killed a deer but loves the atmosphere and companionship. Breakfeast is usually ready by the time we get in from the morning hunt and nothing taste better than a breakfeast beer.

You can drink and hunt hard but you can't safely be drunk and hunt period.

My group on my lease doesn't drink too much (neither do I). Nothing is allowed out of camp (had the rancher write this into the agreement so it had to be followed) and we're usually in the blind 1-2 hrs before light, so hangovers aren't an option.

My ranch however, well, I pretty much have it all to myself because family members are too hungover or just to lazy to come out.

The corporate ranch... hunt hard, play hard, lots of cold beer, XR, and Cask16 meets its demise and not uncommon to see people in the main lodge still partyin when everyone else wakes up. Stocked coolers in every blind. All for customer entertainment though.

Hunt hard by day then if you want, play hard by night. If you play too hard at night and don't feel like hunting the next day then so be it. If anyone gets drunk during the day, they don't go hunting, that's the rule. We have folks that sometimes choose to sit at camp and drink rather than hunt during the day. It's their parogative.

I come from a family that doesn't really drink or party, but we are all hardcore hunters. So at deer camp we will sit by the fire and talk hunting, no drinking involved.

We have a mixture of everybody at camp

Most do drink. Generally a 18 pack is the norm for a Fri-Sun trip (6 beers a day). Everyone is different though and some will drink more and others will drink less

My friends and I (6 out of 10 hunters) on the property will drink more then others as, but we're all in the 25-30 age range. The other hunters on the property are 65+ range and will be in bed by 9pm. The good thing is we all get along very well and every once in a while they will be up late with us. I will say we are all respectful of others and will not be crazy or stupid. No loaded firearms are allowed in camp, and no shooting is allowed on around the camp either

I can't say how much I drink because it varys trip by trip. I always have a "Victory" cigar and drink when I kill a nice buck, and there are times when around the camp fire that the food and music are good so i'll have a few more.

None the less I have never missed a morning hunt

We started out as a drinking group that decided to hunt on all the land we went to every year. Changed the dates we started meeting up, and now we have a healthy mix of guys that just come out to party, those just to hunt and the rest of us who try to do both.

We definitely put away our share, and all but 1 of us is over 50. The youngster, who's about 43, probably drinks the least. No foolishness, no firearms, and no driving on public roads allowed once the cork comes out of the bottle. Beer ok in very limited quantities during the afternoon hunt. I usually carry two with me if I'm going to sit in a stand for 3 hours or more. None if I'm hunting on the move.

Mine depends on what we're there for. If its a summer time visit to cut grass, work the food plots, chop wood, ect we generally tie on, after a long days work. But come hunting season we're all pretty serious and it's generally a few beers at dinner and cards discussing the day.

I am finding as I get older I drink less and sleep more when out at the cabin, though. We have no power or running water, so it gets pretty quiet quickly after the sun sets.

True Story,

Buddy of mine I've hunted with since high school brought some "organic" brownies to camp. I had not a clue what they were, but they were good! Woke up the next morning with a midget stripper named Gertrude. Still made the hunt, and was safe. Never saw Gerty again nor eaten a brownie I didnt make.

My brother and I are both in our 40's and the youngest ones on the lease with 6 other guys. We pretty much drink as much beer as possible from after the afternoon hunt until we hit the sack around 11 or so. Don't handle our guns after the beer comes out. No way no how.

And we're considered the party animals. roflmao

It turns into a BEER LEASE after sundown. Kareoke and Margarita machine for New Years Eve. I left early so I could hunt the New Year. LOL! I REALLY enjoyed touching off my 7 STW with muzzelbrake at 5:00 am on New Years Day to wake up the hungover revelers. LMAO! We ENJOY good jokes and have a GREAT time!

When I was quite a bit younger we'd tell our parents we were going hunting...packed our stuff and headed south. We'd drop by the hunting property put all of our stuff in one car and off to the CUÑA. Never even saw a deer my first 4 or 5 years hunting.

Everyone drinks in camp. Some more than others. No one misses a morning hunt. Some have been known to miss an evening hunt to drink beer instead of sitting in a blind when its 85 degrees early in the season.

No longer have a camp\lease, but when I did it was a social event. Guns don't go in the camp loaded and are put away when not hunting, so at night no guns.

Kept it family oriented and safe.

Our camp is all over the map. We have drinkers and some that drink very little if at all. Sometimes some get drunk but no one has ever gotten out of hand. If they did they would get a one way pass out of there by me in a hurry. No one has ever missed a morning hunt because of drinking. Like someone said earlier, it can be lights out early or we've been know to lose track of time until someone realizes it is 3:30 in the a.m. We take our hunting serious but not so serious as to take the fun out of it. Oh and we are definitely passing the bottle in celebration of someone's buck kill. Even the non drinkers gladly participate in this ritual. It is a celebration of the animal and the hunter. There is a perfect camp for everyone and hope everyone gets a chance at enjoying that perfect camp for themselves. I know I do ours.
