Also, it sounds like the kind of place where you will need a bunch of sealant in the tires of whatever vehicle you use on the place. That sometimes doesn't go well with highway tires.

If you are a real man and hunter money is no object. We find how much we need to buy what we want. Yep what is more important than hunting. Simplyfi it keep th truck, buy uh Ranger, buy an old blazer, and then find you a Samuria and buy it. Thats what I did and one of my leases is just across th road from my house. Now th other one is way out west close to Sonora. Now th biggest problem is which one do I want at each place. Dang I may have ta double up on all of em hey uh man gotta do all he can ta relieve th stress of so many decisions. Dang after goin back an lookin at that Swiss army buggy need ta start werkin on th wife ta get me one o those little dudes

The 710 is the 4X4 version. The 6X6 version is the 712. The 4X4 will carry 10 people or a ton of cargo, the 712 carries up to 14 people or a ton and a half. Gotta show-off a little, here's my 6X6 712M. I feed from both of the trucks and load them to their limit and the little 4 banger idles up hills that make my F-250 spin the tires and the motor rev. They are well worth looking into. The 6X6s are quite a bit more expensive though, they usually run in the $high teens.

why in Sam Hill would you need something that hauls a ton or carries 14 people on a hunting lease. What are you hunting for, Cape buffalo and hippos?

We have an 88 Dodge Raider that we keep up at the place. It will crawl through things that I don't even think I could swim through. We removed the rear seat and Rhino lined the interior. It's made by Mitsubishi and tough as nails...

Sounds like you should go with an old jeep or bronco...you can do more with that then you could with a new mule or gator.

If only those boots had a gun rack, beer cooler, and a spotlight...then I'd consider walking. Hmmm. Guns and beer.....seems like a good idea to me.

I can't justify spending that kind of money on a ranger, mule or others when that kind of money would buy a good 4x4 truck with heat and ac that will keep you dry in the rain, and clean when it's muddy. That's just assuming your budget is that high.
I would look at a truck, suburban, jeep bronco/ blazer and customize it for your needs. Yeah but also think of the cost of registration and insurance if you want to keep it street legal and drive it down there and back, and then there is always the issue of it breaking down while on the way to or from...or worse when your in BFE alone. Had that happen with an old suburban at the back end of 4,000acres, got out went hunting came back and had a dead fuel pump. You can haul a ranger on a small trailer, now trying to trailer a suburban....whole nother issue!

You can get a Kawasaki Mule 610 for pretty reasonable. Upkeep on one of these would be way less than buying an old 4x4. Yes, having one vehicle to get to your lease, and another off-road vehicle to use once you get there, will mean less maintanence for both. I was comparing it to buying an old 4x4 but thanks for pointing out the obvious...

Samuri cant beat em!!!! Climb anything, tuff, and reliable. I have had this one for 10 years 5 of which the timing belt has worn a hole through the front cover and still runs great. I have been waiting for the last 4 years to put the mustang 4 cyl with an auto in it and it has not died yet!!!! Have had it upside down 3 times. Just turn it over put more oil in and crank it right back up.

I have both a Mule and 4x4 truck with a high rack at the ranch and the Mule gets by far the majority of the work. You just can't beat the open air, smaller size, closer to nature "thing" that the UTV vehicles provides.
