Nice season. 24 hunts, 1 skunk, 94 ducks. All during big duck season.
Had a few firsts including a banded bird, canvasback, and believe it or not after many years of hunting, I shot my first ever ringer.
213 birds killed during hunts that I was on.

Had a decent year, we all 3 went a total of 10 times not as many bird as in years past but..... 23 Mallard Drakes 14 Gadwall Hens and Drakes 1 Black duck cross with mallard Drake 30 Ringnecks hens and drakes 4 Redheads Drakes 2 Pintail Drakes 1 Spoonbill Drake 0 on all other species  Heres the Black/Mallard cross I got Just curious. In the season band thread you said you shot 10 or 12 bands this year, maybe more?? If your whole crew only killed 75 ducks in 10 hunts thats pretty good odds for you to kill that many bands. Yes Sir I said I credit 3 of the bands to last year which was my first year to ever shoot banded ducks and this year we killed 11 with bands. Which I guess I should have explained that the lanyard is a group laynard that we all put our bands on. The odds I dont know how it happened but it is what it is  11 out of 75 that's pretty impresive. What kind of ducks did the bands come off of? Did you take any pictures? 1 on the spoonie my wife got 1 on a pintail 3 mallard drakes 2 mallard hen 2 Gadwall drakes 1 ringneck drake 1 Redhead We took pictures of 6 of them but we forgot to take any at the first. My wife brought the camera along the next time and she fell which it was in her coal and fell out and just landed right on the lakes edge ruined the camera and all the pics o the sd are blurry. this season was to one to remember for me Ive hunted since I was 9 and this is the first year we did this good at our property.

This is the picture you posted.  Most of these bands look to be a size 8 which is typically a goose band. Thats crazy that they put those on ducks. Either way congrats on your heavy lanyard.

Duckiller, how many mallards did your outfit kill this year and how many were banded? no, they shot 5 banded mallards if you count the two hens. So it is 5 out of 23, or maybe 5 out of 25 if he forgot to count the hens in his total mallards kill. Did you shoot 2 mallard hens total this season and both of them were banded? I would have started shooting every damned suzie I saw

5/25 is 20%. I'll bet 'Ol Stephen wishes 20% of his mallards were banded.
He'd be on full lanyard #3 by now...

Made 8 hunts this year, 7 solo, one my brother tagged along. I killed 38. 4.75 per hunt average and no skunks.

Duckiller, how many mallards did your outfit kill this year and how many were banded? My decoys saw over 800 ducks go down this season. Well over half were mallards. No bands on hunts where I was present. The Red Leg crew logged over 2000 ducks this season with prolly half being mallards and found 2 bands. One greenhead and one woodie. We are still killing ducks till Sunday though so I haven't lost hope yet. Even more impressive is the 2 gaddie bands out of 14. I don't know how many thousands of gaddies I have band check over the last several years.

Our season was a bit frustrating.....Also, it was the worst season bird number wise we've had in the last 10yrs.
We killed 343 ducks, 11 cranes, and 6 Canada geese on 27 hunts.
Birds per hunt average was low at 13.3.
Birds per hunter average was 4.56.
Gadwall was #1 Mallard #2 Teal #3 and Pintail #4
Really enjoyed the 2 Pintail limit this year though!
We did make a lot of great memories and had dome great hunts this year. you must have gotten 55 bands then?

But really, I never found the birds. Just one of those years I guess. Only hunted the second split, had boat issues, which lead to hardly any scouting. My old spots barely produced. And I got skunked on a Louisiana guided hunt where they "shot 4 limits" 3 days before. Not my year, but I learned alot along the way.
