I use my ugly gun to kill ugly critters, so what's the big deal? Sure if I was a bench shooter I might worry about what other people thought about the looks of my gun, but I shoot practically.  X2

One looks better obviously... and the other shoots better. Obviously! You can't have it both ways I do love my Remington, as it was my grandfather's. I do love my Savage, as it is a precision instrument of eradication. hehe

YMMV, but I'm not kidding.  I was very weary of buying the Savage... I am a Remington guy at heart. Now, I love them both like they are my children!

I found that Savages shoot fantastic right out of the box. Ugly?? Well if its wearing a synthetic stock (as well as any other gun its ugly). Probably one of the ugliest Savages is the model 340, but with that said I have one in 30-30 that if I do my part I can put three in the same hole at 100 yards

Wow looks like I started a  As long as my savage keeps putting meat in the freezer I dont give a @#$% if someone thinks its pretty. If I thought a good hunting rifle should be pretty I would buy a "pretty" gun.

What curly doesn't know is I was sitting 500 yards across the fenceline with my 700 and felt bad for him and his fugly rifle, so I did him a favor and squeezed off a few heartshots for him.....

Savage needs to work on the stocks.
The stock's are fine, It's that Zip Gun looking action that generates complaint's. It looks like it was built by Home Depot.
