no none of those do..lol..I'm sure I can find one that does though It's not like those deer in that sequence are exceptions to the 13" rule...that is just a normal sit down on the place next to Seadogs..you see a whole lot of those deer, only difference is, we can attach permits to them.

I'm getting the feeling my opinions aren't highly regarded here. I'm seriously getting that feeling.

nice deer but your right not wide at all. hopefully somethin good will happen in your area. i have several deer that will never make the 13" rule as well but i also have nice deer that exceed it that i pass on every year. that bad thing about the AR'S is that if hes not legal then those genetics are going to be spread until someone takes him under the table...

How are you seeing deer on one side of a fence but Seadog is seeing nothing? HF? Also, how wide are saying these deer are? No need to comment on the first or last.

The AR's make managing very difficult almost useless. Why put out protein or spend tons of money when inferior deer are going to eat it with you not being able to do anything about it.

I would just like to know, how exactly you guys tell the difference between 12" and 13" at 50-100yards open sights? I've measured 12 deer on people walls in East Texas that were held in high esteem and called trophies. 4 were over 13", the rest around 12". Used to be a trophy was any deer with a good set on him. Now meat hunters go without meat in the freezer cause the state has made us all Trophy huhter. I still believe a man that owns a few acres in the woods should be able to put some meat on his table without worrying about being an outlaw.
Are the "meat hunters" in East Texas not allowed to kill a doe?? All the pics i've seen on here show deer under corn feeders. Where are the protein feeders?? True, you can't control what eats out of a gravity flow P.F., but over time it helps. Protein today doesn't get you large antlers overnight.

the one's quoted with this are 76 miles from Seadog (and not HF and yearling are going to be under 13...the rest are over, but not getting shot at...which is my statement that hunting to get nice deer is a risk if you don't have a fence up..and even then it's still a risk, but a much lower one with the acreage mentioned)...down there across from Seadog, it used to be HFed, but you can't tell a fence was ever there in most places due to loggers, tornados and hurricanes, but the place across from Seadog has been managed and culled on since the 60s (it's roughly 12K acres and at one point was 26K acres before splitting it up). Those deer down there are a product of their environment because of Temple running with naturally regenerated forest since the first loggers (lowery's) cut the majority of it back in the early 1900s.

So, based on your pictures I am assuming you are pro-AR - correct? Prior to AR's all I would see on my place looked like the first picture - my neighbors would put down the first buck they saw with antlers and that ultimately meant no deer would survive past 1.5 years. When AR's started in my county all my neighbors complained about the genetics in the area and the associated Central Texas basket racks - fast forward 5 years and boy were they were wrong. It is very rare in my area to see a mature deer that would not pass the 13" rule. BTW - what was the regulation around does in the East Texas Counties prior to AR's? Permits only? Was it based on acreage?

Letsgo - You're wasting your time. All these guys are convinced that there isn't a single deer in their county that would break 13 inches if it were 20 years old.

I didn't but luckily, we are under the LAMPS program and we had one LAMPS permit left and I got to use it a couple weekends ago to take a doe. Most of the hunters on our lease feed protein every year starting in early Spring but we don't put cameras out then because it's not deer season and most don't make it out there enough to check the cameras that time of year anyway. So you're not gonna see pictures of deer eating protein. Ever think that protein can add mass and length but not always width to a buck's antlers?.

Letsgo, I'm not saying I see no deer. I saying I didn't see any LEGAL mature bucks!!! I saw 2 mature bucks that were around 4 1/2 - 5 1/2 yrs old that went around 12 inches and I saw 5 bucks this year and killed a spike with 1 horn!!! As for does, the doe season was over after the 1st weekend after Thanksgiving and if I read the regs correctly, I can shot 1 during Muzzle Loader season in which I should be home for the last 2 days of!!! I saw 1 yearling doe and was busted a few times by does at the stand!!! Its tough hunting when deer come out at 3 - 5yds from stand because of the thicket!!! I do see quite a few deer out there but not as many as people see in other parts of the State because of the thicket!!!

I couldnt be happier. A 140 inch buck used to be considered a monster and were rarely seen. Now someone sees one that big at least once or twice a weekend. Here are some of the results.

I believe that AR's work in some areas of the State and not others and not in others!!! They put them in Tyler County to save a lot of the young bucks and they have done that but, unfortunately, they have also saved a lot of older, mature bucks that because of a genetic trait common in my area have high narrow racks and it seems, at my lease any way, the only bucks not safe are spikes!!! I exaggerate, a little, out of 30 deer killed 6 did make the 13in requirement and the largest was 12.8in!!! I still say you cannot make an apple out of an orange!!!
