Well, on the nudist thing--that was way back there also with the old, old, owners.
As to the cost-$10,000 I doubt would even touch that buck. Most bucks that top the true 200 range will hit $10,000. Bucks over 230 hit the big time on price.

Article mentions this is the 3rd year they have owned Squaw Mtn. Ranch.
Great buck of a lifetime.

They better be VERY careful, canned hunts in Texas are illegal, if they find out that the animal was conditioned to humans and was a mere pet then there will be hell to pay!

Yes its high fence had a lease that was situated in between Squaw mountian and Montgomery ranch. We were poached to death by road hunters but I saw some huge deer on both places.. And they all come with a price tag. The land has actually been high fence for 15 years at least. Used to be a ton of exotics out there, hogs, etc. I was told when the big fires came through thee a few years back they cut the fences to tlewt the game out to keep them from burning..

I used to hog hunt on Squaw Mountain with my bow back in the early 90s. It was pretty fun. That was some challenging hunting. I dont think I ever did get one. Probably more to do with my hunting ability back then more than anything else though. lol. Whoever owned it back then would always be trying to get me to shoot one of their exotic animals. I would always politely decline. Now that would have been like shooting a cow. They just stood there wondering if you were going to feed them or not. They had no fear of humans.

hmmmm
"“We’ve done some things at Squaw Mountain to improve the genetics of the deer,” Eric Wieser said. “There has been significant improvement in the last two and a half years; these are not your normal Jack County deer.”"
The other giant WT taken this year was a native buck with zero genetics introduced. Now we will need additional categories. HF with no genetics and HF with genetics.

I'll just be happy with the few 160s I can produce on a low fence place thank you very much. These super high scoring nontypicals really arent nice looking. They have alot of antler put they dont suit my eye very well.

They have alot of antler put they dont suit my eye very well. Couldn't agree more! In fact, we have a friend that has a place like this and he stated last week that hunting isn't fun anymore. It has turned into another job. Go figure...how long could you enjoy fishing if it was always in a stocked pond in your back yard?

Yep they've been doing caged hunts there for a very long time. I'm within 5 miles also and we don't and haven't had any free ranging deer that comes close to scoring better than 150 in that area for the past 40 years.

Knew of a guy up in Throckmorton county that threw 100's of thousands of dollars into a high fence operation only had 550 acres so it was like shooting fish in a barrel. he wound up with way too many game animals on the place something like 9 or 10 different species of exotics plus a select few whitetails. He walked away after 5 years and gave it up said it was too much work and cost too much money to keep it running.....

It is sad that these thing don't impress me anymore. The amount of 200"+ high fence deer entered into the LC deer contest is crazy.

I have hunted down the road from this ranch for 30+ years and be assured I have never seen anything near that big. My only hope is a fence failure.
