Naaaaa, I love watching the bickering...just like you do.I'm just surprised it wasn't a high fence thread. Sure I could complain about our President, but what difference would it make. The only thing I can do is keep voting for a Republican and keep my fingers crossed.

Why would someone in favor and support of more government control especially more control over recreational activities taking place on private land vote republican. confused2

That's about as left wing liberal democrat stance as you can get.

The almighty antler sure make some folks loco

Thats the way I am. Sorry. I sure would love to shoot 30 doves every time I go out, but the law says I can't. So I don't. Should I complain about it? I don't duck hunt, but isn't there a limit to the types of ducks you can shoot? What about slot limits on lakes for bass?

I don't like the gov'mnt being in my business just like you don't. But I separate wildlife harvest rules from the gov'mnt taxing me more money so that some people that don't want to work get food stamps and free health care.

No.....the buck I'm mad that I can't take because of even further government regulations is one almost identical to this which was the subject of this thread.....

Just a bit of a difference than the picture you were painting, no? FWIW....this buck would be a PRIMARY target for ANY game management plan worth their salt, either high fence or low.

Ok all the laws you are refering too are to INCREASE Quantity NOT percieved quality....

The USFWS has granted approval for the Central Flyway to conduct a multi-year trial of the Hunter's Choice bag limit beginning with the 2006-2007 season. The purpose of the Hunter's Choice Bag Limit is to limit or reduce harvest on those species needing additional protection while maintaining full hunting opportunity (season length and bag limit) on more abundant species or stocks of ducks (e.g., drake mallards).

Isn't that the same in trying to protect the 1.5 and 2.5 year old deer while still allowing a season bag limit and season length?

Like I mentioned earlier, I'm not a duck hunter but It looks like some ducks arfe considered to be more "quality" than others? Aren't mallard drakes, pintail and wood ducks sought after more than Gadwals?

By the way, I had to pass on a bull moose in BC because it only had 2 points on the front and not 3. I never saw one with 3 or more points on the front so I came home empty handed. Poor me and the Canadian Gov't sucks for creating such a law to improve the quality/age of their animals. bang grin I didn't have a problem with it and that was the only time I have had the chance to hunt Moose.

Or what about the guys that hunt sheep and have to pass on animals with less than a 3/4-full curl to improve the quality and age?

Just in our area, folks need to understand that not all properties are created equal....can't expect a broad blanket program to work everywhere. If folks want better and have a legit gripe to expect better out of a deer herd, they should be able to do something about it on their own. I see it as a joke because of the spike tag and added doe days for most of the counties....if folks are having heck finding decent deer...sure adding those will help. crazy

UH... NO Dude.... cheers the ducks are limited in the NUMBER YOU can shoot not how long their bill is...

Well actually the Mallard is the most populus duck there is so it is really more of an oddity to shoot a gadwall than a mallard. However with duck hunting the hunter is ALLOWED to shoot 6 mallards or 6 gadwalls...

I could care less about canada and their laws because its not my country and not my state, but instead of paying a guide in canada, perhaps you should give all that money to some high fence ranch here in Texas and shoot a real "buck of a lifetime" smile

partially....the other part is you still have folks making decisions because they believe the Kerr studies and don't take them for what they are....A manual on how to line breed crap into a herd in a controlled setting.

Well Nogeese, I can't help ya. Go get on MLD if you are so tired of the government telling you what you can or can not shoot. At least you have that as an option.

I don't need to give my money to a High fenced place...We own one. Thats why I don't have a dog in this fight and how its ironic that I support them. rofl

so how does ARs protect any of these that don't need to get shot on a small acreage property. That one isn't even protected from that coon...he's liable to eat him!

How old was the 22" 14 with a drop? confused2

That buck you shot could have been that 14 pts offspring?

I don't care what you shoot or don't shoot. It won't affect me one way or the other. The only thing it affects is that you will see one less buck next year. I don't shoot spikes

Lord forbid u leave a buck tag in ur pocket.

It is preponderant to prorogue verbalising and let the citizenry surmise that you are doltish, than to disseminate and expunge all skepticism
