quite possibly could have been the case with the one I saw chasing. All the backyard deer are related somehow.

Yes, nothing like keeping tabs on a good scrape line as the season opener gets closer. My wife, daugther and I found a huge, new scrape added to an existing line while out for a walk yesterday in the Davy Crockett National Forest.
Haven't noticed any full chasing just yet. As I understand it, bucks tend to stop making new scrapes once the chasing phase begins, opting instead to check and freshen their existing ones when they're not staying close to a hot doe. In other words, they don't have time to pass out new calling cards once the party begins.

Ain't chasing them in Tyler County that I've seen, still a little early.

Just checked one of the cards from one of my cameras and had some shots of bucks chasin does. Sorry I delete my cards after I check'em. Maybe there will be some on another camera I am going to check later this evening. Ive noticed to that the bucks have gone nocturnal. They were coming in 8:00 am-10:00 am.

when we hunted in walker county they would chase the last weekend of october and the first week of november.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Had to drive from Lufking to central texas starting 7:30 yesterday morning. Saw a rack buck cross the road just outside of Lufkin and another near Crockett. Chasing or not, bucks are starting to move.

I live in walker county, I saw a nice mature 10 chasing a doe hard at 6:30 this morning at the end of my driveway. I just came in from watching my pecan orchard and I saw three different buck come across it looking.

I'm right at the corner of Navarro, Freestone and Henderson and I have seen bucks chasing does everyday on my way home from work in the Type 2 Land of Texas Parks and Wildlife.

I have been in the woods from Mon. 25th till Thur 28 daylight till dark and although I am seeing lots of bucks moving and feeding during daylight I have not seen any chasing. I did see a nice 7 pt and a spike do a little sparring Tues. evening. We watched 3 different bucks come to the food plot at the same time.

Seen spikes running does on my 12,500 acre ranch north of Mt. Pleasant on the sulphur river bottoms,Titus Co., but not the big bucks yet. Had a youth hunter shoot a decent 8 this morning. If anybody needs a place to deer, hog, or duck hunt give me a shout. I have 51 LAMPS permits to fill, and have been seeing a lot of bucks.

funny nobody is seeing any, I watched a very nice mature buck in Van Zandt chasing a doe hard. Also saw several bucks in Upshur County with their nose on the ground hot on the trail of a doe. I had a buddy in Gregg County kill a decent buck that was all over a doe.

I still havnt seen a doe during daylight shooting hours. All the little bucks I'm seeing are just passin thru my place. Last year I would see a doe or two nearly every sitting.

Most of the does are probably getting flashbacks to last Thanksgiving!! I can only imagine their surprise after getting a free pass for so long... Last weekend we saw a few young bucks chasing does. Nothing too big moving around just yet. I can't wait until this next front bumps us right on the weekend! NW Leon County

I hunt in Rusk County. Hunted all day sat and sun, saw a few small bucks chasing does. Saw the most activity between 10 & 4.
