after some of ya'lls posts it makes me feel extreemly blessed that we own land.

I can't remember one fight/argument that has ever happened between us regarding who gets to sit in what blind

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

The only place I have been on in Texas was both. Personal blinds and some community blinds. It seems like most everyone here had fair rules and the general idea is to contribute to share.

We are the same way on our place. We are family and real close friends on our place. To us it is for the safety of all of us who hunt together. Several years back three of us got up to go hunting. One guy said he was going to hunt his brothers stand. Well his brother got off of graveyards, drove to the lease, and arrived about 30 minutes after we left. He walked all the way to his stand because he was worried about spooking any game from us that were already in our spots. Well needless to say when he found his brother in his stand, he was a little POed. To make thing worse his brother actually picked up his gun and watched him moving through the woods, before he realized it was a person. We were all very lucky he didnt get a wild hair and pulled that trigger.

Community,

But we have a very good group that has hunted together for many years. Some memebers have their "favorites" and it goes without saying if that person is there they get first dibs at that spot.

There is a really easy way to fix that "feeder is empty" at so and so's problem.

We have a money pot, taken care of by one member, ALL the corn for the entire lease is paid for out of that kitty, ALL the feeders are filled at the same time EVERY time. Money for repairs to blinds etc. also comes out of said pot.

When the pot starts getting low, the "treasurer" calls everyone and lets them know we need to replenish the pot. All reciepts from everything bought are kept by the "treasurer" to prevent any question of dishonesty.

If a person refuses to pay or slow pays (which has never happened to us) that person would be kicked off the lease, with the landowner backing that decision.

May not work for everyone but it has worked well for us for many years.

Bill

Interesting topic. On my lease we all have our own area we hunt and it is exclusive and like some of the other posters have stated I like it this way. No one on our lease wants anyone else to hunt their area and a couple gets pretty upset if anyone goes any where close to their areas. As far as my area once I get my "trophy" buck if someone else wants to hunt from my stand I am ok with it but not before. I put in the work and spend the money to set mine up do not want others to reap the rewards I have set up for myself. We do have a couple of community stands that the owner has set up and seldom does anyone hunt them but they are there if someone wants to.

I believe it should be by permission only. I make sure my feeders are full, going off, going off at the right time, etc... I have seen how some of the others do things and it would not be an even trade in my books
