There is an exception for the times when another guy's fat chick nearly kills you. That story HAS to be told.

one single member with more money than sense put a nice, nice trailer on the place and lets everyone use it if they help to defray cost. the breakdwon he provide was yearly cost of $850 for directv, $1k for insurance, $650 for taxes, $400 for water, $2400 for electricity, $2500 for interstest and i forget what else. actually a good deal as he fronted the principal and theres usually a couple of us there so it costs $25 per. $100 is more of a deterrant as most of the time you clean it yourslef

ahhh, that makes sense. I thought it was $50 per person per night. Sounds reasonable.

Gald you lived thourgh it!
Our rules are pretty simple. The ranch is broken into 4 sections that we draw for at the begining of bow season. That section is yours till then next season. All food plots and any other protein feeding is your responsablity until the next draw. That way each section is always taken care of. Stay out of the other guys section.
Your family can hunt your spot if you want however if they shoot a deer, thats your deer. Only one buck ( has to be over 130" and at least 4.5) and one doe can be shot per section.
Any buck "accidentally" killed that scores under 130" cost you $10 an inch. Any deer "accidentally" killed under 4.5 yrs old cost you $100 and you dont hunt the next year!

Wow that $100 fine plus loosing hunting privledges is tough. I have seen 3.5 yr old deer that could easily pass for 4.5 especially when they are on protein and you have a good crop year. If I accidently mistaked a 3.5 for a 4.5 and was told to fork over $100 bucks and I couldn't hunt the next year, I would tell you to shove the $100 bucks and I wouldn't be back again.

We are a pretty tight group, so our rules are pretty light. Leave the gates as you find them (closed or open)
Don't get stupid drunk
No loaded guns in the house
If you want to hunt someone else's stand, just ask
Leave the place as clean or cleaner then when you found it
Light a match after using the bathroom
Don't shoot the cows
Last weekend of the season, we settle up the corn tab

We know its tough but there is a reason for it. The only hunters are one of my younger bothers, an uncle ,a cousin, and myself. My dad owns the place. On our last place we had a problem with the uncle inviting all his kids and his poaching buddy out to hunt. They would shoot any thing that had horns.so my brother and I came up with the rules to put a stop to that kind of stuff. we really dont care if anyone likes the rules or gets mad. But if they screw up we will enforce those rules. So, on our place, you better be REAL SURE of what your lookin' at before you pull the trigger.

I'm in the same boat as Brandon A..Except I have only taken one deer in three years..I do let a life long buddy come out and shoot(bow)all his family can eat as long as he leaves the young ones alone along with the two bucks I have off limits..

we own the place and only family is allowed to hunt, so no real rules other than don't do anything stupid. My only rule that I can't seem to get anyone else to follow is that if you bring friends in the off season and they sleep in my bed, change the dang sheets. For whatever reason, no one else seems to have a problem sleeping on sheets after other people. Heck, strip the bed and bring the dirty ones to me if you can't wash them.

Everyone uses common sense and courtesy. Everyone shares the costs and the work. No one discusses politics, but eveyone discusses football. Everyone has fun. Each guy on a lease has at least one pet peeve. Find out what it is, and try not to provoke a reaction. Most of all, treat the place better than if you owned it.
