Good thread. 1. Anything high fence 2. any bear hunt 3. any cat hunt Re, high fences, I have hunted on more than one. With the exception of one ranch, it was killing and not hunting. I chose not to kill when I figured out the set up. The one ranch was tough hunting. Hunted it many times but never shot anything. You would not have known there was even a high fence if you did not drive the perimeter. So, I am not against the high fences, it is just not for me. I think the high fence folks are giving themselves the bad reputation with guaranteed hunts, picking your animal out from a bunch of video or pics and then going out and shooting it in a matter of hours. Sorry but that aint hunting and it aint for me. I love the low fence and the surprises that pop up every year on my ranch. Of course, I lose some to the neighbors but that's how it goes. To each his own. Oh, and no I would not accept an invite to hunt a high fence ranch. My interests do not change just because something is all of the sudden free. Just like I would not accept an invite to go bear or cat hunting. I can appreciate the fact there are many people who enjoy what I dont, so who am I to judge them. Im not. I hope everyone gets the deer they are after this year but somehow I think a few of us wont.
Let'em grow old

I'm not into shooting anything that has feathers. I'm not knocking it or anyone that does it at all....it's just not for me.

I have never had any desire to hunt anything in Africa. Killing a zebra, hippo, elephant, lion, rhino, etc. just has never appealed to me. My thoughts are if you ain't gonna eat it or it ain't something that needs killing (snake, wolf, coyote, prairie dog, etc.), don't kill it. I suppose some of the native Africans may eat some of that stuff, but it just doesn't look too appetising to me. If that is someone's dream hunt, well have at it, but just not my cup of tea.

1)Snipe (tried it, wasn't for me) 2)Hi-fence/exotics/canned hunts
Other than that, if it tastes good, I'll hunt it!

Damn they're fun!

EVERY scrap of meat from EVERY animal killed in Africa is utilized by the native people..... Personally, I want to hunt everything in Africa someday. Including all of the Big 5, Bongo, Lord Derby Eland, and Mountain Nyala.

There are a few exceptions like the hippo, warthog, alligator and elephant. I dont know why but it just doesn't excite me as much as the idea of bow hunting a Nyala, Eland, Kudu, Blesbok, or an impala. One day I will but I dont want to go over there until I can afford to take the wife and kids with me as well.

Like a lot of others Bear is at the top of my no-hunting list. A close second would be caribou. Third would be the big 5 of Africa...mainly the cats. Something about shooting one of them has no appeal whatsoever.

1. Black bear - agree with other sentiments here. I would shoot one if it attacked me on a hike, but otherwise I have no desire
2. Hogs with dogs - too cruel IMO. I would rather kill the dogs used in these hunts. Seriously. I hate pit bulls with a passion.
3. African BIG game. I would love to go over there and bow hunt the smaller game, but I have no desire to kill a water buffalo and such. +1

Alot of spot and stalk, could see alot of animals, and you could kill 2 bulls! By the way, the best wild game I have ever tasted...better than elk!
If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

Yeah Tye, I don't know why, but a Caribou doesn't do a thing for me. And from what I hear, it is not too expensive to hunt them. If I ever get in their part of the world, I would love to hunt sheep.

More for me.
Thanks!
Though I will say... hunting low acreage exotics doesn't really do much for me...
Not really into the "shooting" aspect of hunting... but all bets are off when I'm hungry.

1. Most stuff in Africa 2. Bears 3. Moose
I would go to africa to hunt plains game, but nothing big. I am generally against hunting or fishing for anything that can eat me... I guess it's a weird fear or Karma. Catching fish and killin critters all my life could come back to haunt me when playin with lions, bears and sharks...
