1. Geese/ducks
2. Bison
3. Any high-fence hunt
It is interesting that so many folks don't have any interest in pursuing animals within a high fence, regardless of the animal. Someone suggested in a previous post that some might change their minds if it was free. Might be true for some but not me. I don't have any interest, free or not.

no, this is on 1000+ acres behind the house and someone goes out and feeds them like pets daily. There's just no hunting that takes place on the property unless something is injured and needs to go. My wife (fiance at the time) shot one that had a jacked up jaw and had dropped some serious weight....and a kiddo shot his first one off the back porch w/ a Christmas party audience. Only deer that have been killed there (hogs get slaughtered though). There is 8K acres left to hunt that is spread out around the area (away from the house) where we have food plots in place and feeders, but you can't exactly go rattle a corn sack and have deer running single file out to greet you. You will still see the numbers come through, but those on the other places aren't even close to being tame.

my last three hunts i would choose
1. High fenced exotic hunt
i guess i can take you off the invite list for this year. i do find it interesting that so many people say high fenced hunt, especially those that have never been on one. you are certainly entitled to your opinions, after all, this is a free forum. but i bet the tune would change substantially if there was an invite to come hunt for free. If I had the option of HF vs low, I'd rather hunt on a low fence. However, I have hunted a HF place before. Native whitetail, 700 acres, thick with brush, cedars, mesquite. It was really tough hunting, and on only 700 acres. A couple thousand acres under HF may as well be free range. I think its just so they can somehow say they are "better" hunters. I went to a place with exotics all penned up, didnt appeal to me, but from what you have told me about ur place Rsquared, urs is nothing like that lol. Ive hunted in a high fence plenty, but they might as well have been free range.....

I cant say that I would turn down a HF ranch if the price was right and it wasn't a deer I could run up and kill with a hammer, but the hunts that interest me the least are:
1.Some African game (some really appeal to me but some like elephants etc don't interest me)
Well thats really all I can think of. otherwise, its all fair game.

I see no point in shooting an Ostrich, unless the enormous yardbird is attacking me.

1.African anything- I am not going anywhere on that continent. 2.Any meat eater. I don't eat carnivores. 3.Waterfowl. I like to waterfowl hunt, I just can't stand the eating part. Ducks and geese are not for me.

I can think of a bunch of hunts that I wouldn't really spend my money to do, but I can't think of very many at all that I would turn down with someone else's money.
I really don't have much desire to do any hunting that involves miles of walking up and down mountains. I really like sitting in my stand in a padded chair.

Bears, cats, or goats/sheep are not on my list.
Since everyone else is putting in their two cents worth on high fences, here's mine: It does not bother me or offend me and I do it from time to time. I don't typically find it nearly as satisfying as hunting low fence, but I'll admit I've enjoyed myself on a few HF hunts.

Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

no problem shooting varmits... nothing funner then pulling a half eaten calf out of momma cow after its been in there for 2-3 days.
As far as hunts not really interested in any big bear hunts or mountian lion.

I've hunted high fenced areas before and it was more killin than hunting. On my last deer lease, I hunted over a feeder in my blind sitting in my swivel chair. It was comfortable and I saw a lot of deer (Menard area). Didn't' kill any. My grandson will start hunting this year and I don't want him to think sitting in a stand over a feeder is hunting. There's a lot more to it. Why did I sit over a feeder in a stand? Comfortable way to see a lot of beautiful animals and take great photos. I have no problem with those that shoot out of blinds and hunt HF, I just prefer to do it differently. To each his own.

Don't want to duck hunt it's too cold, wet and early. And too many un-written "rules".
Sheep or goats, I'm WAY to old and outta shape to hunt the truly wild ones, and the other ones are just sheep and goats as far as I'm concerned.
There might be some African animals in Africa that I might want to hunt but I think most of them I'd just as soon photograph. I would like to shoot and have mounted a Dik Dik.
DISCLAIMER ATTENTION: Your decision should NEVER be based SOLELY upon my advice, recomendation, or opinion.

I like to hunt everything. I do find it interesting how people think a high fence suddenly makes deer tame. This is absolute stupidity. It's all about the baiting.

I like to hunt everything. I do find it interesting how people think a high fence suddenly makes deer tame. This is absolute stupidity. It's all about the baiting. +1, or that its like killing instead of hunting I would hunt just about anything if it was legal and I had the time and money. Quail hunting- don't have any to hunt and haven't seen any in many years. Also dont have a dog. Duck/Goose hunting- Could be really fun, but its usually cold and it involves water. Have several friends that do it and love it. Guess I don't go because I don't want to buy all the gear and its usually cold and involves water. Also heard the ducks taste oily???? But if I ever did go duck/goose hunting I would probably really like it...since I like dove hunting so much. Africa hunts- Don't have the time but according to Jim Shockey on last weeks show, he said its cheaper than most North American hunts. Looks fun with all the spot and stalking though. You would have a lot of different animals to hunt as well Bear hunting- Haven't been, but it seems like it might be a lot like whitetail hunting...sitting over bait or spot and stalk. There always seem to be black flys everywhere though. Bison hunting- Don't know much about it but the outfitter I hired in Utah for a mule deer hunt said that they can be quite challenging to hunt??? All I can say is that many people have a preconceived notion on what these types of hunts would be like. Many of the misconceptions come from watching too much t.v. and thinking a hunt last only 30 minutes. In my opinion, the hunt is about the experience and not always the kill. I have more memories of the hard stalks up steep mountains, camp fire meals etc than I do pulling the trigger.
If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

No high Fence. Not a high fence hater at all, just doesn't appeal to me.
No big game animals that I wouldn't eat, such as mountain lion, African game, etc.

I honestly cannot think of a single huntable animal on this planet that I wouldn't want to hunt. I love it all.....and I plan on doing it all someday, including Africa.

at what point does it become "hunting" and not "just shooting".
I'm at a turning point in my life, and I just want to make sure I'm doing things correctly.
do I start by joining a really crappy lease that is shot out, and the deer are pushed to being completley nocturnal? any bucks in the area are 1.5 years old at the most, because of the "if it's brown it's down" attitude.. perhaps THEN, it will be hunting...

I think a lot of people that say that they wouldnt hunt elephant would if they knew how cool it was...
It's not like walking up to a house and shooting it...
They are the smartest thing on earth legally huntable...

I really have no interest in hunting anything other than turkey, whitetail, ducks, doves, and squirrels. And yes, if someone invited me on a HF hunt, I would accept. For you few who say ducks taste bad, I really don't think you had them prepared correctly or you ate the wrong species.
