Toilet paper, it comes in handy. Trust me.

What kind of truck did you get Sami? 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab, 2x4. I have been pulling a trailer with my wife's Altima, now with the truck can't even feel that thing in the back whether it's full of firewood or motorcycles.

Nice truck. I'm an old farm boy and I don't see the value of the spray in bed liners. They seem to be more of "city slicker" thing than something useful. (that'll get the hate flowing...). While they do keep stuff from sliding around, they also make it hard to slide things out. Yeah, they keep the bed from getting scratched up, but, um, you're covering up the pretty paint with black goo! The way I see it, it's a truck, it's meant as a tool - use the heck out of it!

Probably overkill in most instances, but are some of the things we always had in the ranch trucks when I was growing up or the modern equivalents: tractor and bottle jacks come-alongs shovel .22, .410, or 30-30 extra fuel full sized spare - two or more if you are in the boonies tire plug and patch kit 12 volt air compressor and/or air tank starter fluid carb and/or brake cleaner wd-40 baling wire (actually I have a roll of rebar tie and electric fence wire in my tool box, but I have come up a bit in the world since my youth. ;-) duct tape electrical tape athletic tape a chain and/or a good poly strap rope tie-downs flashlight spotlight tool kit sledgehammer breaker bar fencing tools toilet paper and/or baby wipes an assortment of beanie-weenies, sardines, and deviled ham and saltines. tea jug dinner bucket with a sandwich (pot roast, meatloaf, or chicken fried steak), boiled egg, a home grown tomato, and maybe a peach if they are ripe.

Flame away, fellers! i wish i had a bed liner, when u get stuff in ur truck like hay, wood shavings and stuff like that, it makes it a heck of a lot easier to clean out.... not much of a cit boy thing if u asked me.... but what would i know, ive been out of the country for a year and a half now...excluding every weekend.

I had a Paragon and it was low quality. I now have a Flip Bak and it's much better made. If you're looking at a rolling cover, look at the Roll Bak.
With these covers, you can do anything anyone else can do w/o a cover, plus you can lock things up tight. I lock a few thousand dollars worth of rods/reels/tackle in the back of my truck regularly and head to POC to fish. It's all locked up tight and we have no issues stopping for dinner, stopping at Academy, whatever.
If you go with one of the Bak covers, shoot me a PM and I'll tell you the cheapest place I found. A guy on another forum told me about this place and they were great.

Flame away, fellers! Glad somebody agrees with me. I don't see the point in the bed liner either, save yourself $600. It's a pickup bed, it doesn't hurt to get scratched and dented. I just have a rubber mat that came with the truck in mine and it works fine, you can just take the whole thing out to wash the bed out

Hey, now that bed cover is pretty nice. I have the fiberglass one, but would not go that route again, I would chose the one mentioned earlier that sort of rolls up on itself.
It comes in really handy when it rains, keeps stuff from blowing out and makes to where someone is not just able to lift something out of the bed while they are passing by.

I say a big no on the spray in bedliner. Had and will never do it again. I use my trucks and it did not hold up at all chipped off when you through stuff, allowed bed to get dented up. The truck before had a plastic bedliner on it and pulled it out one day and it was like a new bed no dents just scratches from rubbing. Besides it the bed it's made to be used and abused.
Now for the bed cover that's a city boy thing, wouldn't be caught dead with one
Here's my list headache rack toolbox grillguard tools extra spark plug extra belt air comp toilet paper Jack 4 way tire plugs slime jumper cables and the most important thing
ice chest for the cold beer

Last post I just said I don't think you should get a spray in bedliner nad didn't say what I think you should get.
These guys ideas are right on about the toolbox and stuff inside the toolbox. Good floor mats that take up the whole area under your feet and quality seat covers are important in case you are wet and muddy.

Well I've only owned trucks since I started driving and it's been awhile, but I'm not that old of a fart. I've been around trucks and worked on them what seems like forever. I've had bedliners in all of them and only had them since they were free. I prefer not to the see the damage to the paint underneath so it never comes out (it is in there for the life of the truck). I hate the spray-on due to they cover up the access panel for the tailgate and they are rough and kill the knees. I'd rather have nothing than the spray-on, but still prefer the black plastic liner. I've had tonneau covers on a couple and swore I'd never have another one.....I have a cap on the one I own now. It's painted to match the truck and isn't an 'ol man cap. I bought it (6yrs ago) due to hauling an ATV around for the better part of the year and didn't want it to be seen easliy or stollen. So, it fit under the cap w/ the handlebars rolled own and the cap locked. I no longer have ATV's, but have a UTV instead. The cap is now used for camping and is a nice waterproof tent w/ an air mattress. Once this truck leaves I'll possibly go w/ a Roll Bak, but am undecided if I REALLY want the "hassle". I like the ability to lock them and some are worthless if the tailgate doesn't lock. I'll be going to a 1 ton truck next time and have had 1/2 of a truck and 1/2 ton trucks. Time for a bigger one next time and a crew cab is in order also. The extended cabs are getting too small and the leg room will be needed. I've only owned 4x4's for numerous reasons. Too late for ya now though. I always put nerf bars on for the wifey to get in. Will probably do the same on the next one since it WILL be much taller and will probably add a lift or change the tire size. I've never changed the tires from the factory size and never seen the need to, but some 1 ton trucks just look pittiful w/ the little skinny tires. I have had bug deflectors and swear they only pitt the windshield more. This truck still has the factory windshield and only has 1 stone chip that should be repaired, but it's been there for 5yrs and hasn't changed appearance. I've never changed the bumpers before, but the next truck will have both front and rear Ranch Hand bumpers and grille guards. Mudflaps are nice to keep the stone pecking down. Will always have them, but not any that makes the truck look silly. Got to be a normal size. I always install vent shades to keep some fo the rain out w/ the window partially down. Never had seat covers, but the next truck will have them. 3 reasons why: it is time for camo decals, the factory seat covers are getting thinner and don't hold up to the abuse. I hate leather, but that might be the only way the next truck will be equipped. The #1 perfect reason to cover 'em up. I'll be installing a toolbox in the bed also for more storage for tools etc. A must for Husky Liners. These floormats are "the best" for keeping the mud and water off the carpet. My carpet in all of my trucks always looked like new when I traded them in. This truck is 9yrs old and the carpet IS still new looking. A winch will be installed on the front Ranch Hand or will buy one that will work in either receivers. I'm pretty bad for not having extra tools w/ me, but do work on my own truck and none of them have ever lacked proper routine maint. Will make a point to have the necessary tools for changing batteries, belts and hoses w/ me when deer season arrives. I normally keep a few extra fuses in the glovebox. The manufactures are getting cheaper and don't give you extra ones on the fuse cover. I can go on, but will stop for now.

My input: My 06 f150 4x4 has a leveling kit, only thing I've added that was strictly for aesthetics although it did give me more front end clearance. Ranch hand front end replacement: this was my single best investment. Spray in bed liner: again a must. I'm waiting until I need new tires but I don't want anything too aggressive probably will go with bf goodrich all terrains. I have the stock perelli (sp?) scorpions and they are great for the highway but I have popped them twice at the ranch and don't mind sacrificing a louder ride on the road. My bed is only 5.5 feet so I didnt get a tool kit cause I like having more room in my bed for an atv, rods and reels, etc. Otherwise with the new tires I think thats all I really need

I bought my Z71 4x4 in 01, new. I added a Linex spray in liner, they guarantee it for as long as you own the truck. Husky floor mats, because they trap all the mud and water from your boots. And Marathon seat covers. As soon as the factory tires wore out, I put on all terrain tires.
