Also, suzuki, kawasaki and arctic cat are all the same, but with a different paint scheme.

We have a Honda 450 Foreman and have never had any issues with it. Before that I had a Honda 300 fourtrax. It was a great four wheeler but I wanted four wheel drive.

If I ever get another one, it's going to be a Honda. Had nothing but really good luck with them.

I also have had nothing but Polaris since the early 90's. I would have nothing else. I have put mine through hell and they run like a champ. Right now we have a 500 HO, 700, and Ranger 4X4 and love them all.

I ride what I believe in just like I drive a Dodge, shoot remington rifles and benelli shotguns, dip green grizz and listen to hard rock. Is is all just my preferences and my opine.

I like Hondas. Although they dont have the most horsepower I would say that they are probably one of,if not, the most durable engines on the market. If your looking for paint schemes and flash go with something else, but if you want longevity and toughness go with a HONDA

Like others have said, you'll get many varied responses on this topic, but I'll throw another vote for Honda.....I love 'em. I've owned several and actually still have the first one I ever bought, a '91 Four Trax that's been to hell and back and still runs like it was brand new.

I like the Honda's. They always served me well. I have had a Polaris 500HO, and had half-azz good luck with it as it had several small problems. I do have a Polaris Ranger 700 XP that has been good with the exeption of the TPS sensor that has set me back $114.00 twice in two years.

If ya ride swamps and lots of water, go with the Yamaha. Most Hondas have drum brakes and do not fair well full of mud and water. If ya ride the roads and trails go with the Honda. Can't beat the ride. Myself, I ride a 660 Grizz and Love it.

There are some good deals on the sportsman 800...but the suzuki 750 axi really caught my eye. I did look at the honda's, but they are very expensive for what you get.

I have a mid 90's suzuki and a early 2000's arctic cat. They have both been outstanding machines. My suzuki is a 250 2wd and my arctic cat is a 500 4wd with all the bells and whistles at that time. I have put these two through the ringer and have been very happy with them. Remember you dont have to buy the biggest thing the manufactures make. The bigger they are the heavier they are. On my small 2wd if I get stuck somewhere which has only been a couple of times, I can get off and simply pick it up and move it over and take off again. I can not do that with my bigger one. My father, in his 60's and and friend's father, in his 70's both prefer the smaller one to ride around because it is easier for them to get on and off of and it just takes less strength to steer them. I have literally been through water on both of these where it got deeper than anticipated and actually floated across to where I could start driving again. I dont think you can go wrong with most name brands as long as you take care of them. Just think about what you are really going to need and buy a machine that matches your need. Dont pay for a bigger machine than you need and dont pay for a bunch of bells and whistles that you wont use. I would even question whether 4 wd is even necessary. It is handy for severe climbing and in locations where it is muddy regularly but most places I have hunted in Texas my 2wd has been more than adequate. Good luck with finding one that works for you.

Man i would go with a honda for just riding around a deer lease. If you want performance go with a yamaha. Stay away from ploaris. We have two Polaris Rangers and a Polaris 4 wheeler at work and they stay broke all the time and we keep extremely good care of them.

another Honda vote. currently have 3 hondas in the family...biggest problem has been a starter solenoid and a broken tie-rod....both on a honda that is 14 years old and is consistently ridden!

had a polaris once....owned it 6 months. It went back to the dealer 5 times in those 6 months with problems. never again.

I currently have a Kawasaki Prairie 360 (2wd) and have no complaints. It is about 2 years old with not a single issue.

If you are not looking for a lot of power then I would suggest the Kawasaki Bayou 220 or 250. If you are needing a little umph then go with the Honda Rincon or Rancher. The main thing to remember is that when you add aftermarket suspension, bigger and bulkier rims and tires then you are more succeptable to breaking things. Same as with a car or truck, the same principle applies in an atv...That being said, keep it as stock as possible, keep it out of water holes that would require a snorkel and try not to get into too many sticky situations. If you take care of it then you will feel happy and comfortable with your purchase. My 2 cents for ya....

I replaced the 17yo Honda fourtrax 300 with a 420 Rancher. I use the four wheeler more than the truck daily.

The old fourtrax, all I did was change the oil every 100 hours.
