Easiest way to find what size you need is to go to the appliance store and pick up some refrigerator packing cardboard boxes. A couple of boxes, a roll of duct tape and a box cutter, try the size you think you need. If it is too small, change it, just cut the joints that are duct taped and try it at another size. Find the type of chairs you want and use them to figure out your window height. Windows that are too low or too high are hard to change when you make it out of plywood and can get expensive
When you think you have what you want in size and the windows and door where you want it, take it apart. You have your pattern. You can even take it to the pasture and try spending a morning and evening in it and see if it really is the correct size. You can even hunt out of it when the season starts or save it and use it as a quick portable blind for that special spot you find. Rain will ruin it, but for the cost of a roll of duct tape you can build another.

A 4x4 is a joke of a stand. It is a reprensention someone that did n't want to buy another board or two to make a much better stand. 4x4" are good for hobbits, trolls, midgets, Gare Coleman and Webster.

I like to build the blind 4 X 6 and that leaves a 2' X 4' landing to step out on and crawl down the ladder. It also lets you waste less material as you can get by with 5 sheets of plywood for the 4 sides.
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

4x8, but a 6x6 would be good if you were hunting 2 people and able to hunt 360 degrees

All you need is a 4x4. 4x6 or 5x5 would be more comfortable but a 4x4 has more than enough room for 2 people. 4x4 for 2 people? Maybe 2 members of the Roloff family from TV, but by the time you get my 5'11 280 lbs and my office chair, rifle, and hunting bag in the 4x4 stand, there is no more room at the inn...

All our blinds are at least 4x6. You will never have too much room in a blind.
