Yeah - I didn't want to stir the pot, but between that being post #1 and the less than inviting pictures, I'm not sure that's going to get much business in the door.

Hunted with AO (guide: Darrell) this weekend near Brownwood. Blinds & feeders in good condition. Camp fair but acceptable. This is a basic hunt; no hand-holding which I don't want or need. Saw a good # of deer (40+) despite unfavorable weather. I'll book again.
(I'll save someone the trouble; yes, first post.)

It's always amazing how somebody will make their first post about an outfitter that has such a bad reputation. It seems to me that the outfitter is making up their own reviews to try and trick somebody into going there, but not willing to actually provide a quality hunt and get honest reviews. Always do a search online of the name of the outfitter, the owners of the company, and even the names of the guides. Search on FB too. Look at all their pictures and when they where posted. It only takes ten minutes to see who to avoid. If you see red flags, walk away.

It's also very interesting when the extremely happy clients take the time to join the forum and post a glowing review, then quickly turn into ghosts........:)

Well I'm new to this forum, and new to hunting. I've hunted 2 times in the 21/22 season. A little with my dad long time ago when I was a kid, but never shot. 1st hunt was with my brother in law. No dear taken, because I missed. So bought a new Vortex 6x24x50 diamondback for my 270 Savage. Spent 3 weeks sighting it in, and practicing. Then I called James at affordable outfitters. At first he said he was booked for the season but had cancelations time to time. 2 or 3 days later, he called me and offered 2 hunts, both for meat. Picked the last weekend of the season. Arrived Friday afternoon and met with my guide Aaron. No BS guy, he set me up with the lodging, informed me of how everything worked. By the way, I informed both James and Aaron I'm a beginner hunter. Could go on, bottom line took my first dear Saturday morning. Gut shot another Sunday morning. Saw dear every time I was in the blind. Was holding Aaron up tracking the one I gut shot, and he had to pick up another hunter so we quit tracking. Bottom line James went back, tracked my dear, text me and gave me my meat. Saw some pretty negative reviews after I had bottom my hunt, had me worried. But I had a blast got my my meat. I'll try and post a picture
