I have a new pair of 17” Chippewa snake boots
They are very comfortable but I can see that after a
day of dove hunting they will be tough to get off
Anyone try using a boot jack to take them off after
a long day or have any other suggestions other than add a zipper that I am not interested in doing.

Should have bought the moccasin style, they have a zipper on the back. I thought about it but the store said since I do not have a vagina that I could not own a pair of the moccasin style

I have them. Give them time. They'll loosen up going on and off and still fit well. These have the buckle across the top, right? Unbuckle, put them on and tighten the buckle snug. Wear them around the house, in the yard, as much as you can for a weekend. Unbuckle them coming off. I've had mine two years and have wore the hell out of them, and no longer have to unbuckle coming off or back on. Never needed a boot jack for these.

I have a high arches and it is difficult to get boots on and off when they are new. Once they are broke in it is easier. My last pair of Chippewas took longer to break in and I still have to loose the buckle/strap on both to get them on and off at times. I try to wear thinner socks and it makes it easier. Wear them on a heavy dew morning walking the grass will also help them form fit faster.

DO you have the buckle type or the regular boot type? I have the buckle type and haven't had any rela issues. As stated above, unbuckle to take off if needed. They should break in nicely.

I have the buckle type I don’t know if any of you have looked for these boots lately ( especially sizes 11 or 12). But their is a real shortage like everything else.

I've got the buckle up Chips and they feel fantastic. That said, they came off easier new than they do now after probably 100-150 miles on them. My left is fine but my right doesn't want to ever come off, buckled or unbuckled

Once zippers get muddy forget it. I've had a pair of Chips for years, best boot you can buy, but they are just as hard to get off now after years of abuse as they were day one. I just stick one boot on the heel of the other & pull. Still get the occasional muscle cramp, but it's worth it.
