I have a new pair of 17” Chippewa snake boots

They are very comfortable but I can see that after a
day of dove hunting they will be tough to get off

Anyone try using a boot jack to take them off after
a long day or have any other suggestions other than add a zipper that I am not interested in doing.

I thought about it but the store said since I do not have a vagina that I could not own a pair of the moccasin style

The Chips will serve you well. Just pick up a boot jack and stop whining.

I have them. Give them time. They'll loosen up going on and off and still fit well. These have the buckle across the top, right? Unbuckle, put them on and tighten the buckle snug. Wear them around the house, in the yard, as much as you can for a weekend. Unbuckle them coming off. I've had mine two years and have wore the hell out of them, and no longer have to unbuckle coming off or back on. Never needed a boot jack for these.

Sounds like the store hand was full of BS.

I agree with all this. I have a high arches and it is difficult to get boots on and off when they are new. Once they are broke in it is easier. My last pair of Chippewas took longer to break in and I still have to loose the buckle/strap on both to get them on and off at times. I try to wear thinner socks and it makes it easier. Wear them on a heavy dew morning walking the grass will also help them form fit faster.

DO you have the buckle type or the regular boot type? I have the buckle type and haven't had any rela issues. As stated above, unbuckle to take off if needed. They should break in nicely.

I don’t know if any of you have looked for these boots lately ( especially sizes 11 or 12). But their is a real shortage like everything else.

I've got the buckle up Chips and they feel fantastic. That said, they came off easier new than they do now after probably 100-150 miles on them. My left is fine but my right doesn't want to ever come off, buckled or unbuckled

Only gripe I have is they catch corn during my test spin. Pulling them on and off to pour out the few kernels not hard at all.

Once zippers get muddy forget it. I've had a pair of Chips for years, best boot you can buy, but they are just as hard to get off now after years of abuse as they were day one. I just stick one boot on the heel of the other & pull. Still get the occasional muscle cramp, but it's worth it. smile

What if the store said you had a vagina for needing a snake boot to begin with?

Errr. . . , what are you trying to say? I don't have no vajayjay. I recently switched over to Danner lace ups, The ones that look like a booted tennis shoe. Bought them at the Oasis in Uvalde. The laces are a pain in the rump, but they are light, comfortable and waterproof (supposedly). I can look manly in pajamas and with these, I am channeling my own Wyman Meinzer. He don't have no vajayjay neither.

Did you get the ones that look like this?

Maybe you should try them again. After losing all that blubber, you won't be as likely to overheat.

"Only gripe I have is they catch corn during my test spin. Pulling them on and off to pour out the few kernels not hard at all." Reminds me of the Sand Aggie fan squinting into the sun while wearing his cap on backwards. Consider pulling your pants over the boots and instead of posing with your pants within them.

Great idea if the diameter of my pants would allow it. Besides, don't we all want to be like Wyman?

Like button - nice edit. I gotta pick the right pants also. My lightest and most favorite summer pants (511's) won't go for it.
