Right now you are mad and I would be too. I think the best idea is to go with one of the black flash cameras hidden in a good place that will get their faces. Buckeye or Recoynx, Their flash cannot be seen even when you look directly into the camera. If they know you have discovered where they enter the property they might move down the fence and cut it again or just wear a face mask. Traps could result in lawyer fees way more than a $600 camera. Wouldnt the guy probablly take the camara if he saw it.. Leaving you short more money.

When I said "...in a tree..", I meant up in a tree. Not eye level.

I don't get why they are cutting your fence and hanging buckets full of cement on them to weight them down. Is it for a fast escape? How hard is it to climb over a barb wire fence?

They're trying to induce the deer to cross the fence at a lower point. Several outdoor magazines used to advise this technique; I assume for cross fences on the same property.

Mudder - what brand of remote camera are you using and about how much? Not that I have a problem, but would like one before a problem gets started.

If you haven't already, contact your local sheriff and game warden for them to come out and see what the neighbors are doing.

put up some kind of sign/indication that they will know that you know they are poaching/trespassing. Warning signs indicating that traps have been placed out, but not actually doing it, signs saying wardens have been called etc...

Barb wire won't deter a deer. I like holes cut into game fences to repopulate Texas.

Do they own the property next to your?

Purple paint don't mean crap unless you do it EXACTLY as written, don't miss the measurement by an inch!!!

If a man can loose his ranch to a bunch of illegal aliens he shouted obsenities at, ide remove the traps. Technically your suposed to post signs that traps are in the area. Get the GW on em, sounds like they like the spot, he will get em, and you wont land in court.

I would take pics of what they did to your fence but don't disturb anything also take pics of those wrapers but leave them there for now.Set up your camera and let the game warden know and file a report with the sheriff's office then settle back and let the camera do it's work.
Good luck.

I would try trail cams. Get their picture and give it to the Game Warden. That would be alot cheaper than a lawyer to defend yourself because of traps.(although i do like the idea of BIG traps)
