There is a guy in Sasche (ignore mispelling). He traps feral pigeons and sells them for 4 bucks. You can find his number on the gundogbreeders website. Just type in pigeon in the search engine. Best of luck.

No problem amigo. I generally have several dozen available at any time. They aren't feral pigeons but extra racing homers. Strong fliers and good eating too. Fix it just like a dove.

You might be right amigo. I got more than just a few back from that batch I split up between about 5 guys, LOL. I would estimate about 20 or more came back from the hundred or so I sent out that way. You need some more yet or are you raising enough now? You are very welcome, I'm glad they are doing you some good!!

We used to just go out at night under bridges and catch them with a long piece of 2" PVC and a fish net. Put them in a large dog carrier till we got home.

yeah, if commies are good enough for what a guy wants then a person could go catch them out in the wild. The ones I'm talking about aren't commies (feral pigeons), they are racing homers. If you find one under a bridge it isn't a good racing homer or he would be back at his home, LOL.

Chit man.... go to Big Baylor with a long handle fishing net and a bag of popcorn and catch all birds you want.

That's one way to go. You will have to keep recatching your training birds though. The wild pigeons won't go back to your loft plus they don't have the homing instinct of racing homers.

If someone wants to get serious about it use racing homers to train with and have a loft for them at home. You plant them in the field within a few hundred miles of your loft..... and point them, flush them and they will be home before you are and ready for the next trip. Just depends on how a guy wants to work it.
