It was saturday morning. I got in my stand a little late about ten til 7. Right at seven i gave a doe bleat and waited about 10 min and gave a rattle. About 10 seconds into my rattle sequence he came running into about 30 yards. I was caught wit my bow still hanging and rattles in my hand. He started working a scrape so i had time to get my bow knocked. He was giving me a quartering to shot so i sunk it just inside his shoulder. I watched him pile up at about 60 yards. I couldn't find my arrow til i gutted him. The arrow was all inside his rib cage. He only scored 116 3/8 but heck for my first one i ain't going to complain. I wish i could have weighed him cause he had a huge body. Now i can't wait to do it again! Thanks for reading.

Hard to tell by the angle of the picture, but if I use the "tips of the ear" method, he does not look like a legal shooter where I hunt which has antler restrictions... Or am I looking at that deer wrong? Maybe on the hoof, with his ears alert, it might be easier to call..

Congratulations!
Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Great story! Great deer, too! I have hunted with a bow for almost 30 years. I have several doe but only two bucks, neither as fine an animal as yours. Great job!
