...so I had replied to another post a few days ago about getting busted by a hog on opening day. I had mentioned that I had on Scentlok (pants, jacket, face, etc..)and this guys states that Scentlok is a waste of money. The way I figure it, I'll buy what I think I'll need in order to have a better advantage on the deer. I think and read about deer hunting all year and maybe get to spend 12-15 days in the woods all year. I use all scent contol soaps, deoderants, detergants, etc and shower before each hunt am/pm. I have not yet been busted by a deer though, only a hog. Any thoughts on Scentlok clothing?

It might not help that much, but it's better than washing your cotton clothes with tide and then going out to the hunt...
I use the soaps, deodorants, sprays, etc...I'm with you - I only get to hunt so much and I might as well do everything I can to try and help.

I don't know if it works or not. I do believe that it works as I haven't been busted by a deer's nose since I began wearing Scent Blocker. The way I figure it is that it doesn't cost that much more to buy Scent Blocker than it does camo without Scent Blocker. Why not???

Scent lok, scent away spray, scent away soap, scent away deodorant, and scent away cover scents all may help to a degree, but I truly believe that if deer are downwind and relatively close, you'll still get busted. I'm convinced that you can never completely conceal all your scent. Unless your 100% covered with scent lok, and everything with you, including youself, has been sprayed with scent away, and of course, you can go for several hours without breathing. Therefore, do your best to hunt from downwind. The wind is your best advantage or worst disadvantage.

This year I've been using the Silver Ion treated undergarments and they seem to do a pretty good job. X-scents is a good maker of this product and you can buy the tops and bottoms for $20 each and socks for $10(approx.) There are some other brands that cost less but even at $20, that's cheap compared to Scent-Lok, so figured "what the heck", and they seem to do a pretty good job, considering also that I use the heck out of the spray and detergents and soaps, anti-microbial agents etc.
Hope this helps g220
