Here in iowa we drive deer. Which means you got a few walkers walking through a thicket or timber scaring or driving the deer to some standers who are somwhat hidden and when the aninmals run by the standers get the shooting. Just curious if this method would work for hunting hogs?

yes and no. ive never really tried that method, what works better and what i thought u were talking abouta t first is what i do, get in a truck/mule/RTV and drive around to all the hot spots for hogs, find em, drive fast, get next to em, shoot em. really fun, the only thing more fun is running dogs.

Scare up a bedded down hog and you're likely to get charged...

it might work, but it would be like herding chickens. there's no telling what direction they're gonna go.

The problem with hogs is they r a problem. I live in east tx and i can assure u i have lots of experience dealing with them. i have hunted them every way possible; stalking, sitting over feeders, running dogs, etc. The best way i've found is getting in there and stalking them. Trying to drive them would just leave u frustrated hogs are like mini bulldozers unlike deer the dont take the path of least resistance they just go through what ever is in front of them and usually stay in thick cover when bothered

i disagree, driving is very effective. i hunt hogs yearly around DeLeon and all we do is drives. over the course of a few days like 4 or so, if the pigs are in the area well get upwards of 20. we drive creek and river bottoms along and inbetween pastures as well as black locust thickets. its very effective ad their milling around running everywhere helps you get more. some mill, other run to hte blockers. the idea of getting charged is fear about a slim to none chance.
we get alot of pigs and its mostly old guys who arent that agile.

my buddy in south texas drives around in his 250 till he finds a group, guns it and just runs over them.
i guess you could consider that a different kind of drive method

I agree with spitfire. If you hunt fenced area sometimes drives will work if you are conceald well. But if they are under pressure they will mow down anything to get the heck outta there. When Hogs are on the alert, they can be very difficult just like any game.
Can you bait em?
