AR owners - need some help.

Do you guys break down all of the accessories from your AR's before putting in a case?

The case my Bushmaster Varminter came with is too small. I don't want to have to detach my scope, lights, bipod, etc.. from my AR.

Are there cases out there that will handle a 24 inch barrel AR with all the toys still attached? Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance for your help. up

Hard or soft case? I use Pelican cases when traveling. Come in all sizes and will fit everything attached.

Get you a pelican and cut out the pieces in the middle section of foam. Then it all fits snug. Hard to beat IMHO. Here is my BOC (Bug out case) for my new project. rofl

I use Galati soft case for 16 inch barrel ARs because the are light weight and not real bulky.

For a 24 inch you probly need to get something like a Pelican like Greg suggested though. up

Greg, that is one bad mother of a BOB, its contents anyways ! flehan

how many mags deep did you stack, why not on their sides with about 4 or five in each row?

It holds 2 mags in each slot. I did not put them on their side b/c the foam is broke into 3 pieces. Each piece is about 2". You cut the center piece and leave the other two pieces uncut so it will hold things tight. The mags are more than that when you turn them on their side... especially with the slight curve. If 240 rounds won't get me out of the trouble I'm in, then it's time to put the head between the legs and kiss my arse goodbye.

Thanks guys. Looks like I'll go with the Pelican.

I just priced them at Cabela's - not cheap. But hell, I've already invested over 1K in the gun and toys - what's another $200 to keep it protected? up

Some Academey's sell them too. I got mine (the 1750) for $199. Saw it other places for $249.

Be sure to get one big enough. Last time I got a small one that just fit my AR and I could not put anything else in it. This time I went bigger and I'm glad I did. up
