I just got a new bow that has one on it and the person I got it from couldn't remember which way the arrow was supposed to go. The way the arrows are knocked the off color vein goes either up or down. To me it looks like down because the hairs are different color. for a little section down. The only problem with either way it seems like the veins might barely catch the strings when I shoot. Any information would help. Thanks in advance

It does matter slightly. The bottom darker colored whiskers on the bottom of the biscuit are firmer to support your arrow better. Your [censored] feather or vane should face straight up so the other vanes are spanned out to go through the lighter whiskers. I hunt with a whisker biscuit and love it.

yep, darker whiskers are stiffer. You don't want vanes going through them.

I put my cok vane up, but I read somewhere that there is no difference in the stiffness of the darker bristles. Try it both ways and see if it has any impact.

YES IT MATTERS!

The top vane should point up and other 2 down (same color).

The bottom of the buscuit is harder to hold the weight of the arrow. Shooting with the vane down will affect your shots.

Thanks for the info. I will shoot with the cok vein up and not hitting the darker bristles

I personally do not care for the whisker biscuits because they tear up your fletchings too quick!!!!!!! Becareful

They don't tear up Blazer vanes at all which is what they were intended for.

They tore up my vanes until I bought a replacement biskit and read the directions about the black bristles. All the difference in the world. Current bow has a NAP quicktune and the next time the arrow makes a noise on it I will be back to a biskit, In fact I might do it now. Speed effect is minimal and as fast as these new bows are it is probably meaningless.

The same thing we have said. The black bristles are stiffer to hold your arrow. Put cok vane up so no vane goes through the black bristles.

Hmmm.. is something wrong with my bow? I shoot blazer veins and if I do the cok vane up, the right vane hits the cables.. I have to shoot with the cok vain pointed left.. making one vane go through the black so they don't hit the cables... shocked

PSE Whitetail Obsession HC. It's labeled "Whitetail obsession" for bass pro I think.. not sure the exact model.

Yeah it shouldn't do that.

Sounds like you need to adjust your rest. I would paper tune ASAP.

I have shot maybe 1,000 arrows through my WB over the course of the summer/fall, and my 2" blazers still look great.

I paper tuned it 2 weeks before season and it was shooting through great. Just slightly (like 2mm) nose down. I got to looking at my bow last night though.. looks like the cable guide bar is twisted inwards some.. I loosened the hex bolt, but couldn't get it to rotate outwards..

May have to spray something in there to loosen it up, although I don't want my bow smelling like WD40 or breakfree lol.

EDIT: They just barely touch the cables... so I'm thinking it must be the bar. I'll work on it some more.

i bought a hostage arrow rest that hos the notches in the bristles and you have to have odd color to the left or it reall messes your arrow flight up. i bought a dozen new arrows and had no idea why my arrows were not straight in my target til i tried turning one of my knocks.

I shoot 2" blazers with the odd vane down....that's the way the pro shop set it up and it works fine.

What about a drop away rest? My old bow had a biscuit and the two with the same colors stayed down. My new bow is a DXT and has a drop away rest.

It doesn't matter which way your fletchings go on a drop away.
