My grandpa has some property out in the 105 and 1774 area. Do you guys do any good in this area? I am not expecting to shoot a monster, just something descent. I have hunted very little out there over the years, and have not seen a whole lot. I've kicked up a few deer from time to time when i was just scouting around. The only problem that i have, is most of his property is cleared pastureland for cows. He has a few treelines running through the propery and a few ponds. There is about a 5 acre hay pasture that is fenced off from the cows. I set up a tripod there and threw out some corn. Let me know if i am wasting my time. thanks.

I hate to be a wet blanket, but I have hunted all over Grimes County for about 15 years and the pictures above are definitely at the apex of what you can expect. I think the ARs are going to do a world of good though - with the "no doe" rules, almost everywhere you go, people shoot bucks at really young ages. That won't happen anymore, so hopefully the herd will start building a decent age structure.
