I guess this will be a RAGING debate…(sorry but I couldn’t resist) for a long time but I’ve seen a ton of Rage haters as well as supporters here on the THF.

I will tell you that after reading all the “Haters” comments ….”It sailed on me”…..”I double lunged a deer and it ran 1,000 yards” …”The blades deployed too soon”….”The blades didn’t deploy”. ….Well, I am glad I read all of these because I guess that last year the one time out of 30+ animals I’ve taken using Rage heads, the one I didn’t recover surely wasn’t my fault for hitting the deer high and forward in the shoulder!!!!! It had to be the Rage right???!!!! Nope, I don’t think so. I believe it was the Indian…not the arrow (or in this case broad head).

FYI. This one shot yesterday made it about 60 yards which is probably the average I have had with these heads on well struck deer. Even on marginal shots I usually recover them within 100 yards. Hey I do want to try Slick Tricks now with all the pub they’ve been getting on here!

I agree and it appears you couldn't have asked for better shot placement.

you da man SM!! Great deer and great shot!!!!

I guess to each his own though. I prefer fast, sharp, and almost guaranteed pass through. Call me old fashioned, but I also just DO NOT agree with mechanical BH. I feel the slight loss in KE as it striked and deploys is uncalled for. NOW, I know rage minimizes this, BUT like I said "im old fashioned."

So, who has killed with a SCHWACKER??????

Agreed that there is a loss of KE in the opening of any mechanical head but I’m very confident in where the stick is going to fly when it’s wearing a Rage so I’ve stuck with them since they first came out. I have had mostly complete pass thru shots on the majority of the animals taken (including this one) and the one un-recovered animal was not the fault of the broadhead but my yanking the shot high and forward …(guess I was looking at the head gear he was wearing.)

Now that said, I bought some of the Bass Pro Blackout heads that look like a G5 Striker knock off because I’m planning on shooting through netting out of my pop up. I cycled those babies and they grouped just like my field points and Rage heads!! I’m here to tell you those things are sharp too. Hey, I’ve got one more buck tag and my doe tags to fill so I may just zip a few with those!

BTW….Great Yote video Adger! Well played.
