I had a Martin and could nail boards with it at 75 yrd.. this bow I can nail boards,, just have not idea what board I will hit from time to time...
Is it me? I shot a no peep so I am not torqing the bow that I can see...

any guidance would be helpful

I shoot a Mathews switchback and have no problem, but from what I am told from others is that the grip on the mathews are terrible for torquing. Try just wrapping your index finger, and thumb around the grip and lightly hold it. Point the rest at the target. This may be wrong but when I do torque that is what I focus on. The rest is just correct form. Hope this helps.

I shoot a DXT accurately enough not to shoot 2 arrows at the same spot. I curl my bottom 2 fingers to keep from torqueing with the short axle to axle. This may not help you but it helps me.

is it shooting different at different ranges?

The rest maybe off and you may need to walk back tune it.

Most likely grip

i shoot a dxt myself..When im shooting alot i seem to torque the bow a little. try shootin some taking a break and shooting again. Its the way the grips on matthews are. My brother shoots a drenalin and he does the same thing sometimes. Matthews shoot so smooth that you may not even realize your torquing it a little sometimes

Matthew 6:33- But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

What was the axle to axle on your Martin? It could be that you are not yet used to shooting such a small bow yet. Small bow equals less forgiving to shooter error.

I am sure all of you are out hunting or just getting back.. while I am still )*)*)*)* with the wonderful bow..
Axle to axle was longer on the Martin.. 32 or 33 VS 29 ish on this one..

Well here is what I have done today.... 20 yrd GOOD.. imagine that...
30 yrd.. WAY OFF... So I moved this and that and back , up , dwn..
Lowered my weight... ECT...
BACK TO GROUND ONE... this is a new string as of a week ago.. still not sighted in.. but it sure is broke in..
Maxed out bow and backed it off equal turns to my weight.. sticking with 60 till I get this dialed in.
Adjusted rest to 13/16 of riser per Mathew inst. So center looks good..sited and arrow all line up.
Lowered the rest so that it is @ 1/8" lower that the nocking point. ( mixed reviews on this.. some say zero others say 1/8 to 1/4) I have a drop away rest. (quality archery designs)
I tightened the string on that just incase it was not dropping when I released..
How does all that sound???

**NOTE prior to all this adjustment.. My sights were as far left as they would go and my rest was just about as far right as it would go.. I did/do notice some color on the drop away rest..from the fletching rubbing it on the inside part.. I asume that would indicate it is too far in.. however before the string change I could hit OK.. not great...

can anyone tell me if there DXT set up is CENTER SHOT.. ( arrow rest, sights all lined up) or are ya'lls off as mine was.
I know everyone shots different. just trying to get some ideas..
My local shop is my next stop if I can't get something to fly in the am.. I am missing prime hunting and I am sick about it.

To all who respond... THANK YOU

I feel your pain! I bought a new DXT this year also and put a QAD rest on it with a G5 sight, I love the set up and was shooting real good right off. What I noticed is that the strings seemed to stretch and I started hitting slightly off. This made me question everything and lowered my confidence. Since this was only my second bow and the good advice I got off this wesite told me to bring the bow in for a tune up that is what I did. I brought the bow back to the shop I bought it and asked them to make sure everything was in check and also change the string suppressors which had worn out after a couple hundred shots. Before I knew it, the guy that had set the bow up for me orginally had my rest off and said it was not the correct depth, keep in mind he set it up. Now my bow had to be sighted in again the day before the season opened. Luckily it was just a height adjustment and I was shooting pretty good again. I am now shooting better, I think most of the problem was due to my form. Make sure that you center your peep on your sight everytime you shoot. I know for most experienced bowhunters this is automatic but I have to remind myself every shot. The short axle to axle seems is not very forgiving and you have to do everything exactly the same every shot. I am shooting 3-4 inch groups at 40 and probably wont shoot a deer further than 35 yards, but that is good enough for me. Hope you get a good one this year!

HEy Thanks.. I might have to go back the them in the am.. I have read over the thread CBUMP said to and I am more confused then ever..
This DXT must set new rules.. cuz you can't measure off anthing and get the tip of the arrow the same distance from the riser as the nock... IF you can my bos is jacked up...

I don't shoot a peep.. I shot a no peep.. LOVE it.. it eliminates torque.. or most of it..
My thought is you should be able to shot out to 60 yrds with not issues... IF I can't do that it is time to trade this in and get something that I can.

This might be a dumb question but, how is a no peep more accurate than a having a peep. Seems like lining up 3 points would be more consitant that lining up 2. seems like this would allow more torque issues to come into play?

it's like looking through a scope.. if you are not lined up just right it is not clear. the no peep is the same.. it creates a bulls eye within a ring.
Strictly my opinion.. Just hated looking thru that little peep and trying to focus.. I can shoot with both eyes open and in darker light.
look them up and you will see what I mean..

What are you confused about on the link?

When you said this: "This DXT must set new rules.. cuz you can't measure off anthing and get the tip of the arrow the same distance from the riser as the nock... IF you can my bos is jacked up..."
was it in reference to my link?

No Sir, Link was fine, just confused the heck out of me talking about using an arrow or T sq or coat hanger to line up the rest and arrow.
there is not a way to get the nock and the tip lined up off the riser that I can find. due to the offset in the cam's.
At this point I have no clue.. it's as if I never had a bow in my life and i have shot for years.. just so frustratred with this bow I can't thik straight and I am watching the season fade away.
going out again to play some more and if not I will head to bow shot and see if they can do something..
THANKS TO ALL

Just do the part that is not in the quote box. The part that involves hanging the string and adjusting center shot of the rest and windage of the sights.

Thanks again to all who gave feedback and direction.
I gave in and took it to the bow shot.. spent 2 hrs with this guy who was GREAT. Game Trails in Abilene.. THOSE GUYS SURE ARE NICE!
Anyway he shot a few times moved this and that and talked me into puting a peep in the string.. then we shot some more.. and still was not so good.. so he made me some arrow and that seemed to help even more... My shoulder was fryed from Friday night and I pretty much used it up Sat messing with this..
I went to the house and shot some more till I was WAY off again.. It was all my shoulder at this point.. Gave it a rest and just went to the lease to see what I could see....
Didn't need a bow as I only saw 2 deer at dark!

I'll shot again on Monday and see if i can get it hitting the X..
THANK
