Hey guys, i just got my first Browning bow, my first bow to ever own. I have a 14 point buck on my hunting property that i am going after this year. Does anyone have any White tailed deer hunting tips for a first year bow hunter?

wait in till gun season LOL just kidding. thats a tuff question. killing your first deer with a bow is a special event however on the other hand it can be a problem for some. If you trust your self and can control the buck fever go for it if not I would shoot a doe first and see what happens that is of course the buck does not show up before the doe. Last watch your distance do not shoot any futher than you praticed it will come back and bite you. good luck

practice...practice...practice.................more practice.....when you feel like you've practiced too much, practice some more!

Make sure you have someone knowledgeable help you properly tune your bow and your broadheads.

And make sure you shoot your broadheads ALOT before you go hunting. Trust me I found out the hard way. If your bow isn't properly tuned your broadheads will shoot way different than field points.

Once you start getting pretty good practice at random unknown distances but don't shoot past 25 yds at a deer.

Make sure you have your bow drawing and shooting nice and quiet.

Last but not least remember the deer will drop down when you shoot. I aim for the armpit. Watch some hunting videos to get a feel for how much they drop.

IF you are going to be hunting from a tree stand, you need to seriously practice from a tree stand. The distances change when you elevate. The angle can throw you off as well. Practice the same way you will hunt.

Be kind with your words, thankful to your Creator and generous with the meat from your hunt.

Practice drawing your bow back slowly and smoothly with little movement as possible. Experience the muscles you didnt know you have.

I think everyone has said so far, but just in case you didnt hear it. Practice, Practice, Practice. You have got to feel realy comfortable with shooting your bow. If you dont feel comfortable with shooting pass 30 yards then dont. The last thing you would want to do is wound the animal where he want come back or even worse, gut shoot the deer and he dies somewhere and you never find it. Bow hunting is alot diffrent then rifle hunting. Just practice every chance you get.

...and when you finally get to hunt, be scent-free as much as possible, pay close attention to the wind, and be still.

Just remember...practice does not make perfect....perfect practice, makes perfect....gain your confidence at the range and then forget everything you learned when that 14 pt comes into bow range and your shakin like a miniture poodle tryin to pass a brick and there is a whole world of oxygen around you and you can't get any of it.....J/K...good luck on getting that buck your after... up

Think you can/Think you can't/Either way you're right

practice lots. also make sure you draw back quietly. and if you are waiting on the big one, if a doe comes out practice drawing w/o getting busted. if a young doe bust ya a buck for sure will.

HAPPY HUNTING
