This guy would show up at the feeder below the house about 15 minutes after dark every night... Never seen him in the day. Put the spotlight on him (from the back porch) and he would just stand there looking around. Definitely the biggest buck I have ever seen in person.

Looks like he dwarfs that youngster behind him both in body & of course rack. Very nice deer! Hope that you all get a chance to take him out this year.

When I was a kid there was a buck that hung around near the James River bat cave (near Mason). He was absolutely enormous. He was easily a 200+ inch typical. Texas Parks and Wildlife did a helicopter survey of him and said he was the largest buck ever surveyed on the Edwards Plateau. Unfortunately it was suspected that he was killed by a poacher. He was not very skiddish and would hang out in a field by the county road while passersby would check him out. At 200+ typical we are talking a world class deer, and if he was "easily a 200+ typical" then you could have witnessed the new World Record typical! Its likely that if that deer had been poached and scored that high he would have turned up somewhere by now! Not saying I dont believe you, I am just saying a 200" free range typical is EXTREMLY RARE!!!!! I was there, and yes he was that big (and free range). He would have given Milo Hanson buck fever. The only buck I've seen even close to this guy was a mid-180's double drop 12 pointer I saw on the Waggoner Ranch in Baylor County 2 years ago.

Low fence free range The largest Typical I ever saw is on my wall, 11 points 178 gross, 168 7/8 net. Low fence free range

I wish... if there was some way to encourage him to leave the game preserve I would have a chance.

Biggest buck I ever saw was on the LBJ ranch near Fredericksburg. Was behind the high fence. 14 pointer, very tall and very wide and could care less we were looking at him. Biggest buck I have ever seen on my ranch down by Palestine Texas was a 12 pointer with about 12" G2's, maybe a 20+" inside spread and we named him Big Moe. He walked into a food plot and the other eight bucks all hauled it out of there. This was in August before the season, still in velvet and we have never seen him again, but he was scary big.

in dimmit county. I was leaving the blind about 9:15 and as I turned onto the road I was watching ,there he was running in the opposite direction down the road, points everywhere and huge body. It pays to stay late. Still makes me sick. No chance on score estimating but he was a giant.

Also, largest deer I have ever seen have been in Dimmitt county. Seen a couple book deer. Also, the flat out BIGGEST deer deer I have seen, as in how large the antlers were, not score, was an 8 pointer in Dimmitt. This guy was GIANT. If I had to guess, he scored in the 160s. I know exactly what you mean!! The most impressive antlers I've ever put my hands on were from an 8-pointer. They were sheds and scored right at 175 with a 16" spread credit (YES!! 175....I know that's hard to believe for an 8 pointer). The sheds felt like they weighed about 3-4 pounds each.....8" bases.....15" G-2's......12" G-3's.....and beams pushing close to 30". AMAZING antlers!! He was on a high fenced ranch in DeWitt county.....no one ever killed that deer. They would see him every summer but as soon as the velvet was off, he became a ghost. The sheds were from him at 5.5 years old....and the last time they saw him, that I know of, was at 8.5 years old.

In a pen....over 300"
In the wild.....200"+/- 14 point. He was a typical 10 with big Muley forks on his 2s and 3s.
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

I saw a Mulie in Colorado that was big enough that I could fit completely inside his rack. In fact, I did fit completely inside his rack. He was a free ranging buck but was a resident in the Royal Gorge State Park so he was extremely tame. I saw a group of deer by the road so I stopped to take some pics. He was so tame that he walked up to me expecting to be fed. I didn't have anything so I stripped some Oak leaves off a tree and held them out. As he ate them out of my hand, his rack completely surrounded me. Actually, it was kind of uncomfortable to be in that position. Now I don't even remember how many points he had but I'm sure I have some pics buried in a box somewhere at home.
Tame deer may not count but he was definitely a big one.
Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes permanent.

The biggest deer I've ever seen was in New Mexico. I was at a place called San Francisco hot springs walking back to the truck right before dark. I spotted a small WT buck bedded down on the other ridge. I decided to see how close I could get and started walking over there. I got about 200 yds from him when he jumped and ran. He was just a small 6 point. So I started to walk back to the trail I was on. That's when I heard a few more take off to my left. When I looked up I saw the widest set of antlers as he topped the ridge.

2 huge bucks that crossed 380 between Jacksboro and Runaway Bay leaving the Tom Cherryhomes Ranch back around '01 and a brute near the Erath/Hamilton line off of 281 in '98. I will bet one of those is hangin in my buddies garage. 160's if I remember correctly. LonestarCobra knows the story.

1995 in Nacogdoches, Tx. I grew up in Corpus Christi and hunted Freer and South texas all my life, so I have seen some great deer. The buck I saw that December morning on my way to hunt ducks at Lake Nac scared me. We were driving to our spot at around 5:15 am when we spotted something on the side of the road. We saw it was a buck, and he looked right at us from about 30 yards away. He was a typical 12 pt with about 12 inch G2's and he was at least 6 inches outside his ears. He gave us that much time to look at him. I Sh&t you not, he had G5's that were 5 inches long. I hunted ducks before class that whole week, but never saw him again. I tried to talk to the land owner to ask him about hunting his property. After a few choice words about being on his property, we discontinued negotiations.

The largest buck I ever saw was on the side of the road feeding in a field about 50 miles outside of Corpus Christi. This was around 1976. He was a non-typical but I was to small to know how to score him. What I do know is my dad stop the RV and we watched him out the window. Another guy pulled in behind us and got out his truck to take a good luck. That deer just stood there while my dad and the guy in the truck behind us marveled at his size. The look in there eyes told the entire story. You would have thought they were looking at big foot. After about 3 minutes that buck trotted to the woods. My dad just kept mumbling about what he had just seen. I was around 12 and remember his antlers looked like a Christmas tree. My dad still talks about that buck today and he is 83.

I actually seen milo Hanson world record mount up at the Novi expo center near Detroit Mi. it was 213 5/8 it was huge. but the largest live deer I seen was a 12 pointer while bow hunting in the thumb area of Michigan. hunted 5 yrs for this deer and a 12 year old boy end up getting it on a youth hunt. which made me feel better that is was a youngster.
Everyone should beleive in something ,I beleive I'll go Fishing and Hunting.

I was leaving a deer lease in Coleman county one morning and saw my lease owner on his front porch so I stopped and chatted for a bit. Then I hopped in the truck and pulled out of the driveway headed home and what did I see standing 10 ft on the other side of the fence where I could hunt.. A huge non-typical standing about 2 - 2 1/2 feet above his head with mass like no other. I stopped he looked at me and I was praying he would go left and get back on our side so I could jump the fence and take a legal shot of course. But no he ran right and I was just in awwwwwwwwwww. His horns were so heavy it mad his head bounce down when he ran. It had to score in the 170's. Very nice deer. Havent heard of anyone shooting it yet and thats been 8-9 years ago.

Man that sucks.. not the 141 class deer but not getting the lease. My Dad lost a 630 acre lease in Santa Anna that he had hunted for free for 13 years. All the man asked was if my Dad would stop and have coffee with him. The man passed away and the brother and kids wouldnt let anyone on the place. Then they sold it. Some people
