Going Saturday to pick up a new Switchback XT. I am excited as all get out. Been wanting a Matthews for a while but never could bring myself to spend the money. After watchin dgilbert shoot his back in early September at my dove hunt............well it moved to number one on my priority list. So, I have a few questions about accessories....................
1) What are some good stabilizers?
2) I'm gonna have Simms limb Savers put on, But are the string Leaches or whatever they are called also good to use? Or is there another type of string supressor that is better to use?
3) Until I can get me one of those airline approved cases will this thing fit in my regular ol Plano hard plastic bow case?
4) Any other accessories that will be good to have?
5) What peep is better? The small apature one with the tube or the big round one?
Will be putting a drop in whisker Biskit rest on it. Not debatable, I love the things.
Prolly gonna go with the trophy Ridge 5 pin vertical sights.

Whisker biskits are great for a begginer cause they wont fall out or make noise as you move around IF you do move around alot. But they do cause drag and make a little noise on the draw and release. But all in all its a great rest either way. Nice bow too. I shoot a Bowtech but those Mathews bows are smooth. Good luck and good hunting this year !!!

That is a running joke between my oversized brother and me just so you know. I dont have anything against the biskit. I just started shooting a drop away first and like it.

I been bowhuntin off and on for over 20 years. My shooting improved exponentially when I wwent to shootin a Biskit. Stuck with em ever since. And yeah I tend to move around a lot more than I probably should. Probably not the best rest for a 20 yard shot from a ladder blind, but I think it makes up for it when I am out stalking wild hogs or javelina.

CONGRATS ON THE NEW BOW JASON ! I WOULD GO WITH THE PEEP WITH THE TUBE. JUST GET THE ONE WITH THE LARGER DIAMETER HOLE. WATCH THE RUBBER TUBE, THEY BREAK SOMETIMES. I HEARD YOU HAVE TO GET A NEW CASE W/ A MATHEWS. I DONT THINK THEY WILL FIT IN THE PLANO CASES. CONGRATS AGAIN !

First, congrats on selecting one of the finest bows made. I got my XT last November, and everytime I shoot it, I love it more and more.

You don't need a stabilizer on the XT. I have a SIMS on mine, but it's only to hold the wrist strap in place.

SIMS makes some good products, but the string leaches aren't one of them. Yes, they work well, but they also have a pretty short life, if you shoot alot. There's nothing like the feeling of half a leach hitting you in the eye, after the shot. Use the black rubber cat wiskers, they're as good (if not better) than the leaches and last a lot longer.

Not sure about this one. I buy a new case whenever I buy a new bow. I use a Plano Bow Max for my XT. They're under $40 at Academy.

4) Any other accessories that will be good to have?
This ain't a woman, don't try to dress it up, to make it look better. You don't need much on this bow, it shoots like a dream without all the extra BS that you have to add to most bows. Keep it simple, and stick to the basics, and you'll be happier.

5) What peep is better? The small apature one with the tube or the big round one?
Stay away from any peep with a tube. It adds noise and just like the leaches, hurts like hell when it slaps you in the face! The smaller peeps are better for target shooting, but the larger peeps are easier to see in low light conditions. I went with a medium sized, tubeless peep.

Someone said it, then said they were kidding, but I'm not. WB are training wheels. Try a good drop away, and you'll only have biscuits with breakfast from then on. I shot a WB on my first bow, then went to a drop away. I have a Trophy Taker on my XT ... works like a champ.

I love the pin adjustments on the TR sights, but I don't like all the plastic parts. I switched to Extreme after I pulled on the wrong lever and stripped the gears on my 40 yard pin.

I have a switchback also, and it has improved my confidence and my yardage that I feel comfortable taking animals. I can consistently shoot a six inch group at sixty yards (in a target). I would probably never take that shot when harvesting. But I would have no problem with 45ish yds. As for accessories, look at the vital bow gear rests. These things are nifty! They are a drop away rest that holds your arrow in place when the bow is at rest. Hard to explain in words, but if you will go to there websight it can explain better. They aren't cheap, but neither is your bow, no time to skimp now. I went with a hunter hogg-it sight. These things are all metal and bullet proof. They can be adjusted on every axis and have neet adjustments. They have a cool led light attachment that helps light them up at dusk and twilight. As for string suppressors, you do not need them! All they do is slow you down. I put an sts bump stop on mine and you cant hardly here it! The first time I hunted with mine, shot an 80 lb. boar at 41 yards. Please steer away from the wisker bisquit. That's my 2 cents
Live extreme, stay safe.

Congratulations on the new bow. You dont need limb savers or string leaches. It is made to perfection. They are not needed. Yeah it will fit in the Plano case.
