The exact same thing happened to me. The lying POS landowner said the lease was 2850 acres. Ended up being 2000ac. Geez, only off by 850 acres. I confronted him and he said, well gosh I run and cattle and feed like its 2850 acres, therefore I can charge that. This was in Junction BTW with a big-time landowner who's name rhymes with Fudge.

That is so cool. I did my 56 acres and it came out 56.8. I would say it is dead on.

Drillbit,

I hunt on the neighboring property to that individual land owners. I will not tell you who's friend but I have hunted there since 1983 and we have heard many questionable things about that individual. I will be there this weekend bow hunting.

Boomhauer - Luckily we only stayed one year. Its my understanding they've lost all their lease groups and can't find replacements. I'm glad the word is out. Some people...

That would translate to 31,470,000,000 acres....I don't believe you using it correctly rofl

Make sure you only click where you want points added, when you zoom in close enough just hit clear all points, to be sure nothing else is on the map.

Yeah I won't be using this place again. Let me give a tip to any other guys who may not know. I didn't sign a contract (yes I know better). I trusted the guy, he seemed ok so I went with it. However, I will never do that again no matter how a person seems. So I have decided there is no point discussing this (right now) with the land owner. I have no leverage (legally), so i will end up eating it and moving on next year. The weird thing though is I checked the acres on another property he is leasing and it is not right either.

I think you need to call him out on it. You can make him pay for hurting you. Like say for example he doesn't have a license to lease the land out!

to lease any piece of land or someone elses land, you must have a lessor license from TPWD

i own my land and i still have to buy one to sell a single doe hunt...

so, he should have one

Stuff my dad said in the deer blind

"I can dive deeper and come up drier"
"did you do that?"

Just call the GW and get him to do a "random" check.

Does he make y'all report all your kills and write 'em down in a log book? If he has a lease license that's part of the deal. Land owner has to keep a log book on all kills. If he doesn't make y'all report all kills to him for his log book he probably doesn't have a lease license.

When did they start that again? Far as I know they stopped that requirement 10 years ago.

The lease license is still a requirement. Harvest Data Logs are required if you use any Type I, II, or III MLD permits.

Very cool tool. My place has many different points to define it's outline (18) and it came within a few acres on 640 acres total!
